What to do if teeth bleed continuously? Prevention is the key

If your teeth keep bleeding, you must pay special attention, as you may have some oral disease, such as periodontitis. Experts say that in addition to going to the hospital for treatment in time when facing this symptom, you must also do a good job of prevention. You must brush your teeth in the morning and evening, rinse your mouth after every meal and at night, and go to the hospital regularly to clean your teeth.

1. What to do if your teeth bleed continuously

1. Brush your teeth every morning and evening. Patients with gingivitis should use medicated toothpaste to brush their teeth. It is best to buy several different medicated toothpastes with hemostatic effects and use them alternately. It is best to use different brands.

2. Dental floss should be used every day (preferably after each meal and before going to bed at night). If the gaps between teeth are too large, an interdental brush should be used to remove dirt and food debris from the tooth surface and periodontal area to prevent the formation of plaque and tartar.

3. Rinse your mouth after every meal and at night. Patients with gingivitis can use mouthwash to kill most oral and periodontal pathogens and freshen breath.

4. Going to the hospital for regular teeth cleaning is a very important method of dental care, usually once every six months to a year. If the patient has periodontal disease, systematic periodontal treatment should be carried out.

When elderly people experience bleeding teeth, they should pay attention to oral hygiene. In addition to maintaining good oral hygiene, they should also go to the internal medicine department to find out the cause of bleeding, diagnose systemic diseases, and then treat the cause to completely cure the bleeding teeth.

2. Preventive health care

⑴ If the irritation and bleeding is caused by poor oral hygiene and a large amount of dental plaque and tartar (this situation is the most common), you can go to the dental department and ask the doctor to clean your teeth, remove the dental plaque and tartar (commonly known as teeth washing, medically known as scaling and scraping), and take oral antibiotics for 1 week. The gingivitis will disappear quickly and the bleeding will stop. Generally speaking, even if there is no gum bleeding, you should have your teeth cleaned once every six months to a year.

⑵ If the bleeding gums are caused by residual roots or crowns, the residual crowns and roots should be removed and dentures should be replaced later; if the bleeding gums are caused by poorly made braces or poor restorations, new braces should be made or the teeth should be re-filled.

⑶ Women should pay attention to maintaining oral hygiene during menstruation and pregnancy. Usually after menstruation and pregnancy, gum bleeding can be significantly reduced.

⑷ Choose a new type of health toothbrush, avoid brushing your teeth horizontally, and use the vertical brushing method to prevent irritating the gums and causing bleeding.

⑸ If there is large-scale spontaneous gingival bleeding of unknown cause, you should go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible to determine whether there is a blood system disease. Especially hidden blood diseases. We must pay great attention to it, find out the causes from multiple aspects and deal with them in a timely manner.
