What are the dietary treatments for wind-heat cold

There are many methods to treat wind-heat, and it mainly depends on the patient's condition. Diet therapy is a commonly used method for treating colds because it has few side effects on the body. The main function of the diet therapy for wind-heat cold is to clear away heat and detoxify.

(1) Mulberry leaf and mint drink: 5 grams of mulberry leaf, 5 grams of chrysanthemum, 3 grams of mint, and 30 grams of bitter bamboo leaf. Wash the medicine with clean water.

Put it in a teapot, soak it with boiling water for ten minutes, and drink it at any time. This product has both a pungent and cool effect in relieving the symptoms of wind-heat colds, and can also be drunk as a preventive tea.

(2) Honeysuckle and mint drink: 30 grams of honeysuckle, 10 grams of mint, and 60 grams of fresh reed root. First, add 500 ml of water to honeysuckle and reed root and boil for 15 minutes.

Then add mint and boil for 3 minutes, filter out and add appropriate amount of sugar, take it warm, 3 to 4 times a day. This drink has a strong antipyretic effect and is suitable for people with wind-heat cold who have fever, dry throat and thirst.

(3) Kudzu root powder and fermented black beans porridge: 10 grams of kudzu root powder, 10 grams of fermented black beans, 3 stalks of green onion (washed), 10 grams of ophiopogon japonicus, and 50 grams of polished rice.

Put the kudzu root, light black beans and ophiopogon japonicus into a casserole, add 500 ml of water, put it on the fire and boil for about 5 to 10 minutes, filter out the residue,

Add polished rice to the medicinal juice and cook into thin porridge. Cut the scallion into short sections, add it into the porridge when it is almost done, stir and drink it while warm.

The kudzu root, fermented black beans, and scallion in this porridge can dispel exterior pathogens, while the ophiopogon and polished rice can nourish yin and harmonize the stomach. It has the characteristics of dispelling wind gently, relieving fever without being strong, and nourishing yin without being greasy. It is an excellent food for treating wind-heat colds.
