What to do if the knee is painful due to effusion, how to treat it

Many professional athletes may experience fluid accumulation in the knee and extreme pain. This situation is caused by many reasons. The increase of bone fluid and absorption problems will lead to water accumulation and swelling and pain. In such cases, timely treatment is required.

Effusion in the knee is synovitis, a common disease among professional athletes. Synovitis is a sterile inflammatory disease caused by various reasons, which leads to abnormal function and morphological changes of the synovial membrane in the joint, resulting in excessive production of synovial fluid and absorption disorders, and producing major clinical manifestations such as joint swelling, pain, limited function, and muscle atrophy.

1. Piercing therapy

When there is a lot of joint effusion and tension is high, joint puncture can be performed to completely drain the effusion and blood, and sodium hyaluronate, which is the main component of synovial fluid, can be injected into the joint cavity. Studies have shown that various pathological changes in arthritis are closely related to its reduction and changes in physical and chemical properties. The injection of sodium hyaluronate has the following effects: covering the surface of articular cartilage, which can protect the articular cartilage and prevent or delay further degeneration; protecting the synovial membrane of the joint, removing pain-causing substances, and significantly reducing pain; improving the contracture state of the joint and increasing the mobility of the joint; and improving the synovial fluid of the degenerative joint.

2. Medication

Some oral medications have the same mechanism of action as topical medications, and there are few medications that can effectively treat knee effusion. Patients should be careful when choosing medicines and carefully check the functions and indications of the medicines. For example, if the medicine indicates pain, swelling, effusion, etc. caused by synovitis, it means that the medicine only has the effect of reducing inflammation and relieving symptoms. If patients want to achieve good therapeutic effects, they should take oral and topical medications at the same time and persist in the treatment, not stopping the medication once the symptoms disappear. But you should pay attention to the side effects of oral medications. Many oral medications are very harmful to the liver, gallbladder, spleen, and kidneys. It is best to use external pain-relieving ointment, which will have better treatment effects, is easy to use, does not cause allergies, and has thorough efficacy.

3. Physical therapy

(1) Ginger Chicken: Use a freshly crowed rooster and 100-250g of ginger, cut into small pieces, stir-fry and simmer in a pan without adding oil or salt. Those who can drink can put a small amount of wine and finish it within 1 day. They can also eat it once every 1 week or half a month. Used for cold pain in joints and for those who prefer warmth and fear cold.

(2) Deer antler chicken: Use a rooster of the current year and 3-6g of deer antler, stewed in a pot without adding oil or salt. Eat the meat and drink the soup, and finish it in two days. It can be eaten once every week or half a month depending on the situation. Do not use in summer or if you have red, swollen and painful joints.

(3) Red bean porridge: 30g red bean, 15g white rice, appropriate amount of white sugar. First boil the red beans until cooked, then add white rice to make porridge and add sugar to remove dampness and heat.
