What are the treatments for lip scabs

If your lips are prone to scabs, you should pay attention to whether it is caused by cheilitis, because cheilitis can easily cause dry lips, chapped lips and desquamation. Therefore, you should pay attention to the correct treatment after identifying the cause, avoid wind or cold stimulation, and change bad habits of biting your lips or smoking and drinking.

1. Remove irritating factors: such as avoiding wind or cold stimulation, correcting the bad habit of licking and biting lips, quitting smoking and drinking, etc.

2 For those with dry and flaky skin: Apply cod liver oil ointment, anti-inflammatory or hormone-containing ointment, or anti-cracking lip balm topically. Take vitamin A and B6 orally to improve epithelial metabolism and reduce scaling and dryness.

3. For those with exudation and crusting: apply wet compress with 0.1% ethacridine lactate solution or 1:5000 furazolidone solution. You can also apply chloramphenicol solution locally to eliminate inflammation.

4 For patients with recurrent and severe symptoms: Chloroquine phosphate may be given as appropriate, 250 mg each time, twice a day, and reduced to once a week after one week, and antibiotics. Prednisolone suspension can also be injected locally to eliminate inflammation and promote healing.

5. The first step in treatment is to avoid excessive exposure to sunlight, stop using or eating suspicious drugs or foods, avoid dry, hot and windy environments, and change bad habits such as licking lips, which can also prevent recurrence. You can use 0.1% linolenic acid solution or 1/5000 furazolidone solution to moisten the gauze and apply it locally. Apply 3 times a day, each time for 20 to 30 minutes. You can also use 3% saline or 3% boric acid water for wet compresses, and keep the sore surface clean. For small-scale erosion, prednisolone suspension can be injected into the base. For large-scale erosion, prednisone can be taken orally in a short period of time. Antibiotics can be taken if necessary, and chloroquine can be taken orally, 0.25 g per day. The dosage can be reduced after 1 week, and the toxic side effects should be observed. Local irradiation with helium-neon laser can also be used to treat cheilitis.

6. You can use drug ion introduction method to introduce 5% to 10% potassium iodide or 5% procaine into the lips, or apply corticosteroid ointment, such as Fuqing Ointment. For fungal cheilitis, apply Mi cream topically.

7. Avoid all external stimulation and correct bad habits.

8. When scab forms, apply 0.1% Rafenur wet compress and ulcer ointment.

9. For those with very mild desquamation and no subjective symptoms, you can apply a small amount of lip balm.
