What happens if the body has high protein content

Protein is a very nutritious substance and is very beneficial to the human body, but there should be a limit to the amount of protein the human body consumes. Appropriate protein intake is good for the body, but excessive protein intake can be very harmful to the human body, especially for obese patients.

1. Harm of excessive protein

Continued high protein intake can also lead to kidney damage and decreased bone density. In addition, foods rich in animal protein are mostly acidic foods. Excessive intake can make people tired and reduce work and study efficiency. In addition, long-term high-protein diet can induce gout in obese people, and can cause the condition to worsen sharply in gout patients. Generally, food packaging will have a nutritional information table, which will indicate the protein content of the food. Generally, the protein content of every 100ml of milk is around 2~3g.

2. Too much protein is a burden

Excess protein in the body is not only not utilized, but its metabolic breakdown becomes a burden. From an economic perspective, meat protein is the most expensive food energy; at the same time, animal protein foods usually have higher content of saturated fatty acids and cholesterol. Long-term intake of high-protein diet will make people's taste become picky and deviate from healthy diet, leading to overall nutritional imbalance.

3. Pay attention to balance

According to the principle of balanced diet and reasonable combination of various foods, it is easy to get the protein we need every day. Normally, if we can ensure that we take in 0.8-1.2 grams of food protein per kilogram of standard body weight from daily food every day, we don't have to worry about protein deficiency or insufficiency. Specifically, a healthy person who is 165 cm tall only needs to consume 60 grams of protein from food every day. Assuming that a person consumes 350 grams of cereal staple food (100 grams of flour, 250 grams of rice), 250 grams of milk, one egg, 50 grams of dry beans (or products), and 500 grams of vegetables a day, even if he no longer eats any fish, meat, poultry or other animal food, his protein intake has exceeded 60 grams. It can be seen that people who eat a normal diet do not need to worry about nutritional problems due to insufficient protein intake.
