The dangers of hearing aids

Hearing aids are a common auxiliary device that can help many people who are deaf to hear the sounds of the outside world again. The main function of a hearing aid is to amplify sound waves, but everyone's understanding of hearing aids is different. Some people find it very uncomfortable to wear them, but some people find it very comfortable to wear them. Hearing aids have advantages and disadvantages. Are there any dangers of wearing them for a long time?

Are there any dangers of wearing hearing aids for a long time?

If they are not forced, people with normal hearing will not wear hearing aids and will not become dependent on them because they do not need the help of glasses at all. Some hearing aid users whose hearing loss is not serious only use hearing aids in necessary or important occasions (such as meeting guests or hosting certain meetings). It is not that they "cannot take them off". Only those hearing-impaired patients who have gained great benefits from wearing hearing aids will be unable to do without hearing aids.

"Can't live without" and "can't take off" mean that the hearing aid has played its due role and greatly improved the user's hearing condition, which is a wishful thinking.

In contrast, some hearing-impaired patients who use hearing aids for the first time cannot adapt to them and complain about a strong feeling of blockage and foreign body, and that the sound is not real and clear enough. There are many reasons for such problems, such as improper fitting, poor product quality, excessive psychological expectations, etc. But the biggest problem is that they lack the necessary adaptive training.

Despite hearing impairment, these patients had been listening with their own ears and obtaining "real" auditory information before using hearing aids. However, when they wear hearing aids, they hear unfamiliar sounds and they cannot adapt to the changes for a while. One of the important ways to solve the problem is to carry out necessary adaptive training so that the effect of hearing aid can gradually emerge.

Hearing aid adaptation steps are essential

Hearing aid adaptability training is not complicated. The general principle is to persist in wearing and adapting in steps. In terms of daily wearing time, it is better to go from short to long; in terms of volume adjustment, it is better to go from low to high; in terms of the social environment, it is better to go from quiet to noisy, from simple to complex. Only by proceeding step by step can users get through the adaptation period as quickly as possible and maximize the effectiveness of hearing aids. Once this happens, I believe some of them will be unable to take off their hearing aids. It also means that the hearing aid has played its due role and greatly improved your hearing condition, which is a blessing in disguise.
