Which type of porcelain teeth is better?

We all know how important teeth are to us. Even if we pay attention to protecting our teeth in normal times, our teeth may still be hurt. Often, our teeth will be damaged or we may have to have them extracted. In such cases, in order not to affect the beauty and chewing function of the teeth, we need to install new teeth. Nowadays, porcelain teeth are generally installed. There are many types of porcelain teeth. Let us take a look at which type of porcelain teeth is better.

Characteristics of various common types of porcelain teeth

1. Titanium alloy porcelain teeth: Due to the limitations of titanium casting technology and equipment, it is impossible to cast titanium alloy raw materials in an inert gas. Titanium alloy raw materials are cast in natural air, and as a result, the metal titanium oxidizes and volatilizes in the air. In addition, titanium itself is light in weight. During centrifugal casting, the titanium metal moves backward and cannot enter the casting. The so-called titanium alloy porcelain teeth do not meet the standard of 6% titanium content. The actual titanium content is sometimes lower than the titanium content of the nickel-chromium porcelain itself. This is one type of porcelain tooth.

2. Nickel-chromium alloy porcelain teeth: nickel and chromium are the main components. This is also a type of porcelain tooth. Its cobalt content is higher than that of nickel-based alloys, generally 25%, and also contains elements such as Cu, W, Nb, Si, Ru, Al and Mo. Since nickel reacts with saliva in the mouth to produce free nickel, it accumulates on the crown and gum margins, creating the familiar black line (gray stain).

3. Gold-plated inner crown porcelain teeth: This type of porcelain teeth is based on nickel-chromium porcelain, with gold-plated parts in contact with the tooth body and gums, and a porcelain layer on the outer layer. Theoretically, the release of nickel is controlled, which greatly reduces the rate of base metal allergies and the phenomenon of black staining of gums.

Through the above introduction, these three types of porcelain teeth have their own characteristics. When installing, we must choose according to our own dental conditions and living conditions. The one that suits us is the best, so we must make decisions based on our own situation. However, these three types of teeth are all good choices, and they are safe and adaptable.
