What's wrong with the calcification of the soft ribs in the chest

In today's social life, people's diets are becoming more and more diverse, and the types of work are also strange and varied, so there will always be diseases of one kind or another to plague us, leaving us with no escape and no way to avoid it. We can only endure the pain brought by the disease alone. There are some diseases that we don’t understand, so naturally we don’t know where to start treating them. So what is the cause of calcification of the soft ribs in the chest?

Costochondritis, also known as anterior chest wall syndrome, is a common cause of anterior chest pain. Because the pain is located in the anterior chest, it is easily confused with angina pectoris. Patients often mistakenly think that they have coronary heart disease. The cause is generally related to trauma. When people carry heavy objects, twist sharply or squeeze the chest, the sternocostal joint cartilage is acutely damaged, or due to chronic strain or viral infection caused by colds, the sternocostal joint surface cartilage becomes edematous and thickened due to aseptic inflammatory reaction, causing the disease. Or it may be related to costochondral dystrophy, sternal costal joint inflammation, and myofasciitis.

Its clinical manifestations are pain in the anterior chest, which is mostly sore and swollen, with sudden or slow onset, sometimes mild and sometimes severe. It may be aggravated by turning over, coughing, deep breathing, and upper limb activities, and sometimes radiate to the upper limbs. Tenderness over the 2-5 costal cartilages may tend to recur if not treated promptly and thoroughly. In clinical practice, it should be distinguished from diseases such as coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, tuberculosis pleurisy, etc.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the pain of costochondritis that spreads to the chest, flanks, and upper arms is due to qi stagnation; local bulges, obvious tenderness, and fixed pain points are due to blood stasis. Stagnation of Qi and blood stasis, wind-heat invading the meridians, toxic heat and burning together, Qi and blood are blocked and cannot flow. If they cannot flow, there will be pain.

Treatment: Local hot compress therapy, amber paste, external application of Chinese medicine bone-setting powder or three-color compress, internal administration of Huoxue Huayu Decoction, Zuogui Pills

Pain in the left ribs is commonly seen in costochondritis, intercostal neuralgia, gastrointestinal diseases, etc. Analyzing the symptoms you described, it is likely that you have pain in the lower left ribs and intercostal neuralgia.

Guidance:

Please go to the hospital's orthopedic department for a confirmed diagnosis. You can try local hot compresses. Under the guidance of a local doctor, take ibuprofen orally and Zushima tablets orally for pain relief, and try some nerve regulating drugs.

Recommendation: It is recommended to do B-ultrasound and CT to find the cause of the disease, and then treat the symptoms. Pay attention to rest, do not stay up late, do not eat too greasy, spicy and irritating food, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, do not use medicine indiscriminately, and avoid damaging the liver.

After reading the above introduction to what happens when the chest soft ribs are calcified, I think everyone should have some understanding of it. We need to identify the cause of the disease and take targeted measures to improve and treat the disease as soon as possible, so as to avoid procrastinating and worsening the condition and missing the best time for treatment. We must take good care of our bodies and detect and cure diseases as early as possible.
