Will gastric bleeding heal on its own without treatment?

The stomach is the most important digestive organ in our human body. All the food we eat needs to stay in the stomach. Only through the peristalsis of the stomach and the secretion of gastric juice can the food be digested. After the absorption of nutrients, our body's health can be maintained. However, if there is a problem with the stomach, your health may be greatly harmed. So, can gastric bleeding heal itself?

Whether gastric bleeding is severe or mild, it cannot heal itself, so you still need to go to the hospital for treatment.

Etiological treatment: ① Bleeding caused by stress lesions or ulcers, or, H2-receptor blockers such as cimetidine or ranitidine can be used intravenously; or Losec 20 mg can be taken orally twice a day; ② For bleeding caused by esophageal and gastric varicose veins, a three-lumen tube should be inserted for compression and hemostasis. Generally, 200 ml of gas or water is injected into the stomach pouch at a pressure of

5.3~6.6kPa, use 1~2kg pulley for traction, the bleeding stops after 24 hours, the air can be deflated and then observed for another 24 hours; at the same time, add 20U of posterior pituitary hormone to 100ml of glucose solution, intravenous drip, repeat once every 3~4 hours, and inject sclerosant under direct vision of gastroscopy, generally 1% ethoxysclerosing alcohol or 5% morrhuate

Sodium is injected into and around varicose veins to cause embolism and stop bleeding.

Surgical treatment: If non-surgical treatments such as blood transfusion, drug hemostasis, three-chamber sclerosing agent and embolization cannot control the bleeding of esophageal varicose veins, emergency varicose vein ligation should be performed. Although this method has a hemostatic effect, the recurrence rate of bleeding is relatively high. If a splenorenal venous shunt operation can be performed at the same time, the recurrence rate can be reduced. Other surgeries such as portal vein disconnection, H-shaped superior mesenteric vein-inferior vena cava shunt, and splenic vena cava shunt are also used in clinical rescue. The interventional surgical mortality rate of elective portocaval shunt is low and has preventive significance. Liver transplantation may also be considered for cases caused by severe cirrhosis.

In short, although our body’s self-recovery energy is so strong, it still cannot allow gastric bleeding to heal itself. Therefore, patients with gastric bleeding still need to receive treatment with the help of a doctor, including drug treatment, hemostatic treatment or surgical treatment. In addition to necessary treatment, patients themselves should also pay attention to dietary adjustments.
