What is the endocrine system

What is the endocrine system

Do you know what the endocrine system is? Endocrine is very important to us, and it is also very large. The endocrine system has a strong regulatory effect on our body. If the endocrine system is disordered, our body will be greatly affected and will easily get sick. Endocrine disorders can pose a great threat to women in particular. Everyone should learn more about the common knowledge of the endocrine system.

The endocrine system is an important regulatory system of the body. It complements the nervous system to jointly regulate the body's growth and development and various metabolisms, maintain the stability of the internal environment, influence behavior and control reproduction, etc.

The endocrine system consists of endocrine glands and endocrine cells distributed in other organs. Endocrine glands are glands in the body that have no output ducts. The secretions of endocrine cells are called hormones. Most hormones secreted by endocrine cells act on specific cells at a distance through blood circulation, while the secretions of a small number of endocrine cells can directly act on neighboring cells, which is called paracrine secretion. The structural characteristics of endocrine glands are: glandular cells are arranged in cords, clusters or bubbles, have no ducts to discharge secretions, and are rich in capillaries. The main endocrine glands of the human body are: thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, pituitary gland, pineal gland, pancreatic islets, thymus and gonads.

We should also understand the regulation of endocrine disorders

1. Ensure sleep quality

Clinical studies have found that if adults sleep less than four hours a day, their metabolic system will be seriously impaired, causing endocrine disorders. Therefore, adults should ensure about 8 hours of sleep a day. In addition, to improve the quality of sleep, people with poor sleep can do low-intensity exercise for about 20 minutes within 2 to 3 hours before going to bed, or drink a glass of hot milk before going to bed. All of these practices can help improve sleep quality.

2. Take a hot bath regularly

Taking a hot bath is one of the good ways to maintain endocrine balance in the human body. This is because taking a hot bath can cause a person's blood vessels to contract violently first and then slowly dilate. This not only enhances people's cardiovascular function, but also helps promote the excretion of toxins in the blood. People can first soak in a bathtub filled with hot water for 3 minutes, then come out and rest for 5 minutes, and then enter the bathtub and soak for another 3 minutes... and repeat this process three times. Doing so is very effective in regulating the function of the endocrine system. People who are not suitable for taking hot baths frequently (such as heart patients) can soak their feet in hot water, which can also help regulate endocrine function.

3. Massage the chest, spine and armpits

The front chest is where the thymus is located; the spine is the human nerve center; and the armpit is where the human body's blood vessels, nerves and lymph nodes gather. If people can massage these three parts frequently, they can improve the body's immunity, keep the lymph and blood flowing smoothly, promote the excretion of waste and toxins in the body, and play a role in regulating endocrine function.

What is the endocrine system? Now everyone should have some understanding of it. Do you also know the importance of the endocrine system? People nowadays are prone to endocrine disorders. In our daily lives, we should pay attention to regulating our endocrine system to avoid disorders.
