Feeling sleepy may be a warning sign of 8 serious diseases

Everyone needs sleep every day, but even after sleeping for 8 hours, we often still feel tired and sleepy after getting up, or even fall asleep while sitting and watching TV without realizing it. These signs may be warning signs that there is illness in the body and need to be taken seriously.

If you often feel sleepy and have other different symptoms, it may be a warning sign of eight different serious illnesses. Look at the following situations and see which one you fit. Don’t worry. The disease is not terrible if it can be detected early and medical treatment can be sought early.

1. Sleep-related breathing disorders

If a middle-aged or elderly man is overweight and has a habit of drinking, he will often feel sleepy, weak, and drowsy during the day, and snore loudly at night, with the sound sometimes high and sometimes low. It may be due to lack of oxygen in the body caused by sleep apnea, which prevents the body's organs from getting a good rest. Frequent sleep apnea interrupts sleep, resulting in poor sleep quality and drowsiness.

2. Premonition of stroke

If middle-aged people often experience unexplained drowsiness or sleepiness, accompanied by numbness in the fingers, it should not be ignored, as it may be a precursor to ischemic stroke.

3. Hypothyroidism

The body may have symptoms such as difficulty breathing, chest tightness, drowsiness, fatigue, dull expression, low body temperature, poor hearing, rough, pale or sallow skin, coarse and dull hair, loose and weak muscles, slow movements and unresponsiveness. These symptoms may be caused by hypothyroidism, also known as "hypothyroidism".

4. Liver disease

If you often feel very tired, as if you have not gotten enough sleep, your whole body feels soft and you feel very weak, and your skin becomes yellow and rough, you have a loss of appetite, and you feel nauseous. Pay attention to whether there are liver and gallbladder diseases.

5. Heart disease

Heart disease can lead to poor blood circulation, metabolic waste accumulation in tissues, irritating nerve endings, causing fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath. Be alert to whether these are symptoms of various heart diseases.

6. Diabetes

In addition to causing drowsiness, fatigue, and lethargy, long-term brain hypoxia can also cause physical fatigue and a feeling of being unable to wake up.

Diabetic patients are twice as likely to experience daytime sleepiness as other people. If you feel tired and sleepy during the day for a long time, especially after eating a full meal, you can check whether your blood sugar level after a meal is higher than normal, which is a sign of diabetes.

7. Anemia

Frequent fatigue and sleepiness are the most common symptoms of anemia, if accompanied by dizziness, headache, tinnitus, blurred vision, inattention, pale complexion, etc. It is important to consider whether anemia is causing muscle or nervous system hypoxia leading to the above conditions.

8. Severe brain hypoxia

In addition to drowsiness, people may also experience dizziness, headache, head swelling, fatigue, slow reaction and memory loss, which may be caused by long-term lack of oxygen to the brain.

If you experience the above-mentioned drowsiness, it is best to undergo further medical examination to confirm the situation. Do not make your own judgment, which will delay the treatment and make the situation worse.
