Food, clothing, housing and transportation are all about health preservation!

Food, clothing, housing and transportation generally refer to the basic needs of life such as clothing, eating, housing and traveling. Food, clothing, housing and transportation are indispensable to each of us. There is knowledge and health everywhere. Many health-preserving sutras left by our ancestors are catchy and contain profound meanings. You may wish to learn them!

Clothing

Don't be afraid of high temperatures if your clothes are not too thick;

If the clothes are not too thin, you won’t be afraid of strong winds.

The human body can only maintain its best condition within the appropriate temperature. If the living or working environment temperature is too high or too low, you may get sick. Therefore, it is very important to adjust the thickness of clothes and quilts according to temperature changes. For example, people use the phrase "dress randomly in February and August" to describe the situation where people dress randomly in early spring and early autumn. Keep warm in spring and keep cool in autumn. Early spring and early autumn are relatively cool. Inappropriately reducing or adding clothes will lead to catching a cold. In summer, when the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor is large, it is like the change of seasons. You should pay attention to adding or removing clothes, especially when the air conditioner is on. You can no longer wear short-sleeved shirts and shorts. You can put on a thin shirt or tie a silk scarf.

Washing

Don't wash your hair when you are full, and don't take a bath when you are hungry;

Washing your feet before going to bed is better than taking tonic.

Right after a meal, a large amount of blood flows into the stomach, and when washing your hair you naturally have to lower your head, which may cause cerebral ischemia. If the person is middle-aged or elderly or suffers from high blood pressure or high blood lipids, it is easy to induce cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases such as stroke. Although taking a bath is comfortable, it is still a physically demanding activity. Taking a bath when hungry can easily lead to hypoglycemia or even fainting. On the contrary, it is not advisable to take a bath right after eating, otherwise the blood that should be concentrated in the stomach will be diverted to the skin and muscles, affecting digestion and absorption. It is recommended to rest for an hour or two after a meal before taking a shower.

There are two more sentences following this sentence: Don’t pour cold water on the sweat that has fallen. What this means is that you cannot take a shower right after sweating, and of course you cannot enter an air-conditioned room right away, because the pores will suddenly close from their expanded state when exposed to cold stimulation, destroying the skin's sweating function and leading to symptoms such as heatstroke and colds. In the traditional theory of Chinese medicine, the foot is a "window" to health, and all the internal organs have corresponding acupuncture points here. Wash your feet at night and massage the Yongquan acupoint on the soles of your feet properly until you feel warm and feel comfortable all over. This can nourish the heart and eyes, relieve fatigue and promote sleep. If conditions permit, you can also soak your feet in mugwort leaves, which can dispel cold, remove dampness, and dredge the meridians.

Sleep

Don't sleep on stones in summer, and don't sleep on boards in autumn;

Don't expose your navel in spring and don't cover your head in winter.

Get up slowly, don't rush or panic;

In summer and early autumn, many people like to sleep on the floor to keep cool, but the ground dissipates heat quickly and absorbs heat quickly, which can easily absorb heat from the back, which may induce low back pain, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. The climate is dry in autumn and the weather turns cold. Sleeping on a hard bed can easily cause local blood circulation problems, limb paralysis, etc. Even though the weather gets warmer in spring, you must cover yourself tightly with the quilt when you sleep, especially don't expose your belly button. It’s cold in winter and many people like to cover their heads when sleeping. However, the air circulation in the quilt is poor and the carbon dioxide exhaled by the human body can easily accumulate, causing hypoxia.

If you open the windows for ventilation for about 15 minutes before going to bed, it will increase the oxygen content and greatly reduce indoor bacteria, which will help improve sleep quality. When people sleep, their various physiological functions maintain a low speed operation, metabolic level decreases, heart rate slows down, and blood pressure drops. When waking up, people gradually move from a deep sleep state to an active state. If they get out of bed immediately or get up with a large movement, it is easy to induce cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

Walking

Sit as steady as a bell, stand as straight as a pine tree;

This is especially important for older people. Because the functions of their organs will degenerate and decline, their bones, muscles, and ligaments will become loose and weak. If they do not hold up their chests when standing and walking, their chest cavity will be squeezed and their lung capacity will decrease, making it easy for them to develop hunchbacks and stooped waists, and they will often experience palpitations and shortness of breath due to insufficient inhaled air.

Prolonged lack of oxygen in the body often causes heart and lung diseases. Therefore, the elderly must keep their chests up when standing or sitting. There are two more sentences worth mentioning about action: your feet should always move forward, and your steps should always be followed. This sentence means that you should walk briskly and vigorously to avoid developing a slow walking habit. Otherwise, the leg muscles will not be well exercised, and after the muscles atrophy and age, you will not be able to lift your legs.

Public places where many people gather are often the source of disease. Food, clothing , housing, transportation and health follow me. If you avoid crowded places and stay away from sources of infection, your chances of contracting the disease will naturally decrease. When citizens go out and take air-conditioned vehicles, they should not be greedy for warmth. Opening the window a little will help maintain air circulation. In addition, those who exercise should remember: warm-up activities must be sufficient, and once sweating, the sweat must be wiped off and clothes must be put on in time, and excessive exposure to cold air should be avoided.
