The harm of automobile exhaust to human body

There are many hazards caused by automobile exhaust. Look at it from a global perspective. The main factor causing ambient air pollution is actually automobile exhaust. We all know that car exhaust is very harmful to the human body. It contains a large amount of carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, or some other solid particles that have serious effects on people's bodies.

In particular, the leaded gasoline in cars is the most harmful to the human body. Automobile exhaust is very harmful to the human body. In fact, lead is in the exhaust gas in the form of particles, which will usually spread with the wind. Rural residents generally inhale about one microgram of lead from the air every day. As for urban residents, the toxic gases inhaled by residents on both sides of the streets are actually greater than those in rural areas. Therefore, the harm of automobile exhaust to the human body cannot be ignored.

Lead is transferred from the above tissues to the bones and deposited in the form of insoluble lead phosphate. About 90% to 95% of the lead in the human body is stored in the bones, and only a small amount of lead exists in organs such as the liver and spleen. The lead in bones is generally stable. When the food is deficient in calcium or the acid-base balance is disrupted by infection, trauma, drinking, or taking acid-base drugs, the lead is transferred from the bones to the blood, causing symptoms of lead poisoning. The symptoms of lead poisoning are very wide, such as dizziness, headache, insomnia, nightmares, memory loss, fatigue, loss of appetite, upper abdominal distension, warmness, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, anemia, peripheral neuritis, etc.; severe poisoning patients have obvious liver damage, and will have symptoms such as jaundice, liver enlargement, and abnormal liver function.

As the automobile industry develops rapidly and automobile production and ownership continue to increase, automobiles also bring about air pollution, namely automobile exhaust pollution. In 1943, in Los Angeles, California, 2.5 million cars burned 1,100 tons of gasoline every day. The hydrocarbons produced by the combustion of gasoline undergo a chemical reaction under the ultraviolet rays of the sun, forming light blue smoke, which caused most citizens in the city to suffer from red eyes and headaches. Later people called this pollution photochemical smog. Los Angeles experienced two more photochemical smog incidents in 1955 and 1970. In the former, more than 400 people died from poisoning of the five senses and respiratory failure, while in the latter, three-quarters of the city's population became ill.

Automobile exhaust is actually quite harmful to the human body. As the number of cars in our lives continues to increase, the exhaust pollution it brings is becoming increasingly serious. In big cities, many people suffer from poor breathing or poisoning of their five senses, which causes their bodies to be damaged or even seriously harmed.
