How is baldness inherited

Baldness is a rather distressing problem and also one that can have a significant impact on a person's image. There are many specific reasons for baldness, among which many people suffer from baldness due to genetics. If your father and grandfather are both bald, then your baby will be bald 100%. Below, we will introduce you to the relevant knowledge about the inheritance of baldness in detail.

1. Is baldness hereditary?

Baldness is hereditary, and it is dominant in male babies and recessive in female babies. In short, baldness is inherited from father to son. If the father is bald and the grandfather is also bald, the incidence of a boy is about 100%; if the father is not bald and the grandfather is less bald, the possibility of a boy is 25%; if the father is not bald and the grandfather has a head of thick hair, then the possibility of the baby being bald is almost zero.

Through research on whether male baldness is hereditary, it was discovered that baldness is a sex-linked recessive inheritance, and generally baldness will be inherited from generation to generation. For example: Grandpa is bald, and so is his grandson. This is because my grandfather's bald X chromosome was passed on to my mother. The mother is a normal carrier because only one of her two X chromosomes carries the baldness gene and the other is normal, and baldness is a recessive gene. If a mother gives birth to a son, there is a 50% chance that he will inherit the chromosomes carrying the baldness gene. If a son is unlucky enough to inherit his mother's X chromosome with the baldness gene, he will be bald. Because men only have one X chromosome.

2. Causes of baldness

1. Postpartum hair loss is also common among women. Since hormones are one of the factors for hair growth, the sudden decrease in hormone secretion after childbirth will cause the hair to fall out naturally in large quantities. However, this phenomenon will return to normal about 6 months after childbirth.

2. Mental stress. The accelerated pace of life and fierce competition in modern society can easily make people bear increasingly heavy pressure. Under the influence of mental stress, the capillaries that supply nutrients to the hair follicles contract, causing local blood circulation disorders, resulting in changes in hair ecology and malnutrition. Mental stress can also cause excessive sweating and increased sebaceous gland secretion, resulting in severe dandruff or dandruff, reducing the quality of the environment for hair survival, and thus leading to hair loss.

3. Diet. Dieting causes the hair to lack sufficient nutritional supply. If the hair lacks iron intake, it will become dull, brittle and easy to break. Zinc deficiency will cause the hair to turn white and the hair quality will be poor and easy to fall out.

3. Prevention of baldness

1. Comb your hair frequently

Comb your hair 10 times every morning, noon and evening. You can massage your scalp while combing to enhance the blood supply to the hair roots and nutrition of the hair. It is best to use a wooden comb or horn comb when combing your hair. Do not comb or brush your hair when it is wet to avoid damaging your hair.

2. Shampoo

Washing your hair should not be too frequent, 4 times a week is appropriate. When washing your hair, do not use too hot water or shampoo with strong degreasing properties. When washing your hair, you should wipe, rub and massage at the same time. After washing, pat your hair with a thick towel to absorb any remaining moisture, and it is best to let your hair air dry naturally.

3. Eat a healthy diet

Adjusting your daily diet can effectively prevent baldness. You can eat foods rich in iron, calcium and vitamin A on a daily basis, such as soy milk, milk, eggs, lean meat, etc. You should also try to eat more fruits and vegetables.

4. Eliminate the feeling of depression

Excessive emotional tension and mental stress can induce hair loss. Only by adjusting your mentality in time and eliminating unnecessary tension can you effectively prevent the occurrence of baldness.
