The effect of azithromycin

The effect of azithromycin

It is inevitable for people to get sick in their lifetime. I wonder if you have noticed that many times when we are sick, the doctor will often prescribe a box of azithromycin for us to take, especially when we have symptoms such as cold, fever, tonsillitis, etc., we cannot avoid taking a box of azithromycin. So have you ever thought about what role and effect azithromycin has on our patients?

Azithromycin is also called erythromycin. Its main function is to eliminate inflammation, so we use it for common colds, fevers, and inflamed wounds. Now let us understand the specific effects of azithromycin.

Azithromycin is a semisynthetic 15-membered ring macrolide antibiotic. White or off-white crystalline powder; odorless, bitter taste; slightly hygroscopic. This product is easily soluble in methanol, acetone, chloroform, anhydrous ethanol or dilute hydrochloric acid, and almost insoluble in water. Specific rotation: Take the product, weigh it accurately, dissolve it in anhydrous ethanol and dilute it to make a solution containing 20 mg per 1 ml. Determine it according to the method (Appendix ⅥE). The specific rotation should be -45° to -49°.

The main ingredient of azithromycin capsules is azithromycin, and its chemical name is: (2R, 3S, 4R, 5R, 8R, 10R, 11R, 12S, 13S, 14R)-13-[(2,6-dideoxy-3-C-methyl-3-O-methyl-α-L-ribopyranosyl)oxy]-2-ethyl-3,4,10-trihydroxy-3,5,6,8,10,12,14-heptamethyl-11-[[3,4,6-trideoxy-3-(dimethylamino)-β-D-xylopyranosyl]oxy]-1-oxa-6-azacyclopentadecan-15-one.

The main use of azithromycin is to treat:

1. Acute pharyngitis and acute tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes.

2. Sinusitis, otitis media, acute bronchitis, and acute attacks of chronic bronchitis caused by sensitive bacteria.

3. Pneumonia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae and Mycoplasma pneumoniae.

4. Urethritis and cervicitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis and non-multi-drug resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

5. Skin and soft tissue infections caused by sensitive bacteria.

The reason why azithromycin is so common is because our human body often suffers from inflammation. All medicines are poisonous to some extent, so we should strengthen our physical exercise in our daily life, drink more boiled water when we are free, and pay attention to safety and details as much as possible in life and work. Only in this way can our bodies become "immune to all poisons" and we can completely get rid of "essential medicines" in life such as azithromycin.
