2. Disinfection and medication

Analgesics can be used appropriately before changing the dressing to relieve pain. When changing the dressing on the wound, be gentle to avoid aggravating the pain. When the dressing is tightly attached to the wound, it can be rinsed with sterile saline first to make the dressing thoroughly soaked before changing the dressing.

3. Chinese medicine patch

Chinese medicine plaster is a kind of conservative treatment method. Its function is to reduce swelling, relieve pain and detoxify. It is suitable for patients with early paronychia. Most hospitals apply ichthyol ointment or Sanhuang powder to the affected area.

4. Drainage if necessary

If the patient has severe pus discharge, he or she should seek medical attention promptly and adopt the treatment method of incision and drainage. Pay attention to keeping the drainage of the pus cavity unobstructed at all times and observe the exudation of the wound; keep the dressing clean and dry, replace the soaked dressing in time, and pay attention to the changes in the color, properties and amount of the drainage; use antibiotics promptly and reasonably according to the doctor's orders.
