What is urine protein

What is urine protein

Many friends don’t know what urine protein is. In fact, urine protein is caused by the fact that the amount of small molecule protein contained in the filtrate of the glomerulus exceeds the normal level. Therefore, the protein in the urine will increase accordingly, especially when it is detected during a routine urine test. This is called urine protein. In addition, urine protein is very harmful to us, especially it can easily lead to the formation of other chronic diseases.

In fact, urinary protein is a disease of the respiratory system, and the main incidence groups are concentrated in pregnant women, women, and even children, and there are relatively fewer men. In addition, urinary protein requires timely treatment and prevention and health care. So what exactly is urine protein?

What is urine protein?

Overview of Proteinuria

Normal glomerular filtrate contains a small amount of small molecular proteins. When the protein content in urine increases, it can be detected by routine urine examination, which is called proteinuria. If the urine protein content is ≥3.5g/24h, it is called heavy proteinuria.

Location: Reproductive system

Crowd: Children, pregnant women, women

Diagnosis

1. Medical history: Depending on the cause of proteinuria, the medical history should be focused, such as the history of edema, hypertension, diabetes, allergic purpura, use of kidney-damaging drugs, heavy metal salt poisoning, as well as connective tissue diseases, metabolic diseases and gout attacks.

2. Physical examination: Pay attention to edema and serous effusion, bone and joint examination, degree of anemia, and examination of heart, liver, and kidney signs. Fundus examination shows that in acute nephritis the fundus is normal or has mild vasospasm, in chronic nephritis the fundus has arteriosclerosis, bleeding, exudation, etc., and in diabetic nephropathy, diabetic fundus is often present.

3. Laboratory examination: Urine protein examination can be divided into qualitative examination, quantitative examination and special examination. 1. Qualitative examination: Morning urine is the best, as it is the most concentrated and can exclude postural proteinuria. 2. Quantitative examination of urine protein: There are many methods, including the Pap test, the double daptomycin method, the phosphotungstic acid method, etc. The double daptomycin method is the most accurate and most commonly used.

4. Special examination of urine protein: Urine protein electrophoresis is commonly used to distinguish between selective proteinuria and non-selective proteinuria. Urine protein electrophoresis is helpful for typing multiple myeloma. Urine radioimmunoassay is a qualitative method for urine protein. When the urine routine result is negative, the radioimmunoassay may show positive. Its disadvantage is that the false positive rate is high.

Preventive Care

1. It is advisable to eat light and easily digestible food, and avoid seafood, beef, mutton, spicy food, and alcohol.

2. Eat fresh vegetables and appropriate amounts of fruit, drink enough water, and eat low-sugar and low-fat foods.

3. All kidney disease patients are prohibited from using nephrotoxic drugs such as streptomycin, gentamicin, and amikacin. Traditional Chinese medicines such as Akebia trifoliata and Aucklandia lappa are prohibited from using aristolochic acid drugs.

4. People with edema should limit salt intake and drink less water. If the edema is not severe, a low-sodium diet can be taken; if there is no edema, the intake of water and protein food is not restricted. Those with hematuria, yin deficiency and hyperactivity of fire should not use tonic medicine.

5. If you have a cold, fever, infection, etc., you should consult a doctor in time for timely treatment to avoid complications and worsening of the disease.

6. Build confidence, persist in treatment and stay in a good mood.

After reading what urine protein is, I believe everyone has a clear understanding. In fact, urine protein can be prevented and maintained through some means. In addition to paying attention to the scientific nature of the diet, you must not eat irritating foods. You should mainly eat a light diet. In addition, if you have serious medical problems, you should consult a doctor in time to avoid missing the best time for treatment and worsening the condition.
