Neurological deafness

Sensorineural hearing loss is caused by changes in the auditory nerve and auditory center, leading to tinnitus, hearing loss, and even deafness. Sensorineural hearing loss is often accompanied by symptoms of nausea and vomiting. It brings great inconvenience to the patient's life and will create a burden on his future work. Therefore, it is very important to prevent sensorineural hearing loss as early as possible. This requires understanding the causes of sensorineural hearing loss.

Sensorineural hearing loss is more difficult to treat than other types of hearing loss, and the cause of the disease is not particularly clear. Deafness does not mean that you can’t hear all of a sudden. Some patients have a process of deafness. Therefore, when there is tinnitus or hearing loss, you must seek timely treatment. Here are the causes of deafness:

① Toxic deafness caused by continuous use of antibiotics such as streptomycin, kanamycin, gentamicin, etc. after illness.

②Sudden deafness caused by viral infection or inner ear vascular embolism.

③ Infectious deafness caused by infectious diseases such as meningitis, measles, typhoid fever, etc.

④ Blast-induced deafness caused by trauma, explosion, noise, etc. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the ear is the orifice of the kidney, is irrigated by the twelve meridians, and is connected to the brain. The etiology and pathogenesis may include wind-heat invasion, liver fire disturbance, phlegm-fire stagnation, kidney essence deficiency, spleen and stomach weakness, etc. The main clinical manifestations are hearing impairment, reduction or even disappearance. Children often feel that there are cicadas or other sounds in their ears, which are more obvious in a quiet environment. It may be accompanied by various systemic symptoms such as fever, headache, irritability, abdominal distension, back pain and fatigue.

For patients, suffering from sensorineural hearing loss is a very painful thing. Although medical technology has developed rapidly, some patients' conditions are special and still cannot achieve good treatment effects. Doing a good job of prevention is the key. Understanding the causes of deafness and effectively staying away from these unfavorable factors can greatly reduce the chance of suffering from sensorineural hearing loss.
