Tips: Dry seasonal clothes in the sun for 3 hours before wearing them

As the weather gets warmer, everyone is taking out their long-hidden shorts and shorts in preparation for summer. Many people think that they can just put away last year’s clothes neatly and wear them directly this year, but this is not the case.

These clothes are stored in closets or boxes for the entire winter, which may breed mites due to insufficient air circulation and may also carry some germs or allergens. The situation will be even worse if the clothes still have untreated dandruff, sebum, or have come into contact with mothballs. If you wear clothes without treating them during the change of seasons, it can easily cause skin problems, especially for people with allergies, who may even develop allergic skin diseases such as urticaria.

Therefore, find a sunny day and quickly take out seasonal clothes, quilts, etc. and let them sunbathe in the sun. Sunlight is a natural "disinfectant" and the ultraviolet rays in it can kill mites, mold and many other harmful substances. In addition, sunlight can dehumidify clothes and also has a sterilizing effect. It is recommended to dry clothes according to their type. Ordinary cotton clothes can be dried directly in the sun, preferably at noon, especially from 12 noon to 3 pm, when ultraviolet rays are the strongest. The drying time does not need to be too long, 1 to 2 hours is enough. Clothes made of silk, wool and mixed fiber fabrics should not be exposed to direct sunlight for a long time, otherwise high temperature exposure will accelerate their oxidation and yellowing. You can hang it directly on the clothes hanger and dry it in a well-ventilated place where the light is not too strong. The drying time does not need to be too long, 3 hours is enough.
