What are the early symptoms of lymphoma? Swollen superficial lymph nodes?

Lymphoma can be divided into two categories according to its cell components: Hodgkin's disease and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Its malignancy varies, and it is caused by the malignant proliferation of the lymphatic tissue cell system, and mostly occurs in the lymph nodes. So what are the early symptoms of lymphoma?

The early symptoms of lymphoma mainly include:

1. Swollen lymph nodes throughout the body: mainly in the neck, followed by the axillary and inguinal lymph nodes, and in the late stage the mediastinal lymph nodes may be affected.

2. Splenomegaly: About 30% of cases involve the spleen, which often occurs in the late stage and is generally reactive hyperplasia or granuloma formation.

3. Hematopoietic system: Anemia is present, which is related to bone marrow involvement. Hemolytic anemia may occur in the late stage.

4. Digestive system: About 30% of patients have stomach, pancreas, and intestines affected, and may suffer from malabsorption or even ascites.

5. Cardiovascular system: Occasionally, exudative pericarditis occurs.

6. Liver damage: Jaundice may occur due to liver damage.

7. Bone metastasis: about 5-15%, bone pain occurs.

8. Kidney involvement: About 13% of cases have renal infiltration, and severe cases may develop renal failure.

9. Pulmonary infiltration: Pleural effusion is the most common, accounting for 13-23%.

10. Systemic symptoms: irregular fever, night sweats, itching, especially itching is a specific symptom of Hodgkin's disease.

The early sign of lymphoma is superficial lymphadenopathy, which is painless and progressive. The swelling mainly occurs in the cervical, axillary or inguinal lymph nodes, with 60-80% of cervical lymphadenopathy, 6-20% in the axillary, and 6-10% in the inguinal. Hodgkin's disease usually involves cervical or supraclavicular lymph nodes, and NHL, in addition to the involvement of the upper and lower diaphragmatic lymph nodes, can be found in other lymphoid tissues such as the trochlea, orbital lymph nodes and Waldeyer's ring after careful clinical examination.
