What is the difference between a pituitary tumor and brain cancer?

Pituitary tumor is a tumor that develops from the anterior and posterior pituitary and residual cells of the craniopharyngeal epithelium. Most of these tumors are adenomas in the anterior lobe, and those from the posterior lobe are rare. The pathogenesis of pituitary tumors is a complex multi-step process involving multiple factors. Brain tumors refer to new organisms that grow in the cranial cavity, also known as intracranial tumors, which can originate from the brain, meninges, nerves, blood vessels, and brain appendages. The disease will not become malignant, and it is completely different from malignant tumors in the brain. It is recommended to do a brain MRI examination first, which is also the basis for preliminary diagnosis. Pituitary tumors are benign, and the cause of the disease is not very clear. There are also a few patients with pituitary tumors who do not have any symptoms.

Is the patient with advanced brain cancer conscious?

Malignant tumors in the brain mainly include malignant meningiomas, gliomas, and metastatic tumors. Late stage brain tumors often cause severe increase in intracranial pressure, resulting in impaired consciousness and even coma. Most patients are unconscious before dying. Surgical treatment is not very effective for patients in the late stage because metastasis has already occurred. Malignant tumors in the brain mainly include gliomas.
