Will thyroid cancer cause fever all over the body?

Thyroid cancer is a malignant tumor that originates from the thyroid follicular epithelium or parafollicular cells and is a disease of the endocrine system. Patients with thyroid cancer generally do not show obvious symptoms in the early stages, but as the disease progresses, the tumor continues to grow and may compress or invade surrounding tissues, causing the body's temperature to rise, which can generally manifest as a fever all over the body.

1. Reasons:

Patients with thyroid cancer generally do not show obvious symptoms in the early stages, but as the tumor continues to grow, it may compress or invade surrounding tissues, causing lumps and pain in the neck. Some patients may also experience symptoms such as hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, and difficulty breathing.

2. Treatment:

1. Surgical treatment: For early-stage patients, thyroidectomy is feasible. For patients in the middle and late stages, combined radioactive isotope iodine-131 treatment can be used in addition to surgical treatment;

2. Radioactive isotope iodine-131 therapy: The beta rays emitted by this radioactive isotope iodine-131 can destroy the RAI system in the thyroid follicular epithelial cells and the thyroid parenchyma, reduce the secretion of thyroid hormones, and gradually reduce the size of the thyroid gland. It can be used for patients with mid- to late-stage thyroid cancer without affecting the appearance, surrounding tissues, or causing damage to the nervous system.

3. Endocrine therapy: Thyroxine can inhibit TSH secretion. Levothyroxine sodium tablets can be used for treatment of thyroid hormone deficiency;

4. Chemotherapy: Thyroid cancer is a malignant tumor. Patients usually need chemotherapy after surgical resection to prevent the spread or recurrence of cancer cells. Commonly used chemotherapy drugs include cisplatin injection, paclitaxel injection, etc.

In addition to the above, patients with thyroid cancer should pay attention to adjusting their diet structure, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, try to avoid spicy foods, and avoid smoking and drinking. They should also pay attention to rest, avoid staying up late, and maintain a good attitude, which is beneficial to the recovery of the disease.
