Early detection of prostate cancer

Early detection of prostate cancer

According to statistics from relevant personnel, the mortality rate of prostate cancer is second only to lung cancer among the cancers that men are prone to. It is one of the most common malignant tumors of the male reproductive system, and the incidence rate has obvious regional differences. For example, in European and American countries, prostate cancer is one of the main causes of cancer death in men. The incidence rate in China used to be relatively low, but due to the aging of the population, the incidence rate of prostate cancer has increased in recent years. So which group of people are prone to prostate cancer, and early detection of prostate cancer? Let's explain in detail below.

The exact cause of prostate cancer has not yet been determined, but medical professionals believe that prostate cancer may be related to genetic changes in the human body.

1. Age is the main risk factor for prostate cancer. Statistics show that prostate cancer is very rare in men under 45 years old, but as the age increases, the incidence of prostate cancer also increases sharply. The vast majority of prostate cancer patients are over 65 years old.

2. Race. Statistics show that the incidence of prostate cancer is highest in European and American countries, such as Americans. Although the incidence of prostate cancer in China is much lower than that in European and American countries, due to various factors in China, the incidence of prostate cancer is increasing year by year.

Patients who are considering prostate disease, or people who are prone to prostate disease, can do the following tests to determine whether they have prostate cancer, such as: rectal examination, prostate biopsy, serum acid phosphatase test, B-ultrasound or X-ray.

Since prostate cancer often occurs in the posterior lobe of the prostate, there are no obvious symptoms in the early stages of the disease. Even if there is discomfort in the prostate, most patients do not pay much attention to it, which makes it difficult to diagnose the disease in the early stages. Once the patient's body shows obvious symptoms of the disease, it is often in the late stage of the disease, and the prognosis is poor even with treatment. Therefore, early detection and diagnosis of prostate cancer is particularly important.
