How to open up the lung meridian

How to open up the lung meridian

There are meridians in everyone's body, and meridians are closely related to the health of human organs. In traditional Chinese medicine, when the human body develops a certain disease, it is most likely caused by blockage of the meridians. Among them, the lung meridian occupies a very important position in traditional Chinese medicine. If the lung meridian is blocked, stomach bloating and indigestion may occur, so it is necessary to open up the lung meridian at this time, but what are the methods to open up the lung meridian?

1. The influence of the lung meridian on the human body

The lung meridian starts from the stomach, which is called the middle burner in traditional Chinese medicine. It runs downward to the large intestine, then upward to the lungs, entering the trachea and throat, then goes down along the upper limb to the palm of the forearm and the thenar eminence of the palm, ending at the Shaoshang point. There are 11 acupoints commonly used along the route.

Therefore, the gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases that people generally suffer from are closely related to the lung meridian, and these diseases can be helped by regulating the lung meridian.

Clinical manifestations of the lung meridian

The main clinical manifestations are: fever, cold, cough, sore throat, shoulder and back pain, lung distension, chest distension, stomach distension, irritability, shortness of breath, hot palms and soles, etc.

The Lung Meridian treats: diseases of the lungs, chest, throat, and other areas where the Lung Meridian runs.

2. Methods of Combing the Lung Meridian

1. Self-organization

Raise your forearm naturally, bend your elbow 90 degrees with your palm facing up, and use your other hand to make an empty fist and tap lightly along the palm side of your forearm from elbow to wrist on the little finger side 3-5 times.

If the person has insufficient lung function, there will be obvious pain points when tapping. Generally, the pain on the right side is more obvious than the left side, because Chinese medicine believes that the lung qi rises on the left and falls on the right in the body. You can press and rub the painful area for 3-5 minutes, once a day. After 7 consecutive days, the pain point will be significantly reduced or disappear. If the lung meridian is unobstructed, there will be no pain. The absence of pain points proves that the lung meridian is running smoothly.

2. Acupoint combing

There are as many as 11 acupoints commonly used in the lungs. We only need to take two of them, "Yuji Point" and "Kongzui Point" for massage to achieve the effect of combing the lung meridian.

(1) Kongzui point is located on the inner side of the arm, 7 inches away from the wrist, about two horizontal palms away, and about 3 horizontal fingers below the elbow joint. Almost everyone will feel pain when pressing it. When massaging, use the tip of your thumb on the other side to press the points for 3-5 minutes, until you feel a swelling and pain. Do this once a day. Persistence is the key.

(2) The Yuji point is located in the depression behind the metacarpal joint of the thumb on the palm. Use the other thumb to massage the point next to the metacarpal bone. People with lung discomfort will feel obvious pain when massaging the point. Some people do not feel obvious pain when pressing. In this case, you need to press and rub the Kongzui point first. After the Kongzui point is opened, the pain in the thenar eminence will appear.

3. The best time to comb the lung meridian

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the twelve meridians of the human body correspond to the twelve hours of the day. The lung meridian runs from 3 to 5 in the morning, but because people are asleep at this time, the lung meridian is called Taiyin. We can choose the Taiyin meridian of the same name - the spleen meridian of the foot Taiyin, which runs from 9 to 11 in the morning for massage.

When there are obvious symptoms of the lung meridian, you should discover them at any time and massage and comb them at any time. For example, if you wake up around 3 am every day, this is an obvious symptom of blocked lung meridian, and you should comb it in time.

Editor's suggestion: Acupoint combing is definitely helpful for health, but persistence is important.
