Prevent gas poisoning in winter

Prevent gas poisoning in winter

In winter, when the weather is very cold, we need to keep warm. For some bungalows, gas is still used frequently. Therefore, relevant knowledge about preventing gas poisoning in winter is very important. Because few people open windows for ventilation at night in winter, it is easy to cause the indoor carbon dioxide concentration to increase, leading to poisoning. I hope everyone can understand some relevant knowledge for their own health.

1. Install a gas leak alarm.

If your family uses gas stoves and gas water heaters frequently after winter comes, it is recommended to install a household gas leak alarm. The alarm can detect the gas concentration in the air in time. Once it exceeds the preset concentration, it will sound an alarm to remind the owner to intervene and deal with it in time.

2. Check the equipment frequently before use.

It is best to check gas stoves, gas water heaters and other appliances used in daily household before each use. Smell the gas to see if there is any leakage before starting normal use. Be careful not to install the gas water heater in an enclosed bathroom or a poorly ventilated corner, etc., to prevent poisoning caused by the poor discharge of waste gas after gas combustion.

3. Avoid staying in a closed room for a long time.

When winter comes, people often take measures to warm themselves by fire to avoid catching cold. When this kind of indoor stove is burning, the doors and windows are usually closed at the same time; at this time it is more likely to cause the carbon monoxide concentration in the room to gradually increase. It is recommended not to stay in a closed room with heating for a long time, and go somewhere else to breathe fresh air after a period of time.

4. Replace the rubber hose of gas appliances regularly.

For gas stoves, gas water heaters and other appliances that are normally used in the home, the connecting rubber hoses should be replaced regularly. For households with frequent use, it is recommended to update the rubber hoses once a year to prevent gas leakage due to aging and rupture of the rubber hoses. Regularly updating the rubber hoses in gas appliances can ensure that gas does not leak in the connecting pipes.
