What does rectal ca mean

Intestinal diseases have always been relatively common. Because the symptoms of intestinal diseases are often not obvious, they are easily ignored. This will lead to many serious intestinal diseases, especially intestinal tumors, which have a very high incidence rate and mainly affect middle-aged and elderly people. Due to people's lack of understanding of rectal CA, they often miss the best treatment time. Let's take a look at what rectal CA means.

The "CA" in rectal CA is the abbreviation of cancer in English, which is the name for cancer in Western medicine. The Chinese call it cancer. Rectal CA means rectal cancer. However, considering patients' fear and taboo about the word cancer, doctors will write it as rectal CA. This can reduce patients' psychological pressure. However, the hospital's pathology report will still write rectal cancer.

The age of onset of rectal CA in my country is around 45 years old, mostly in men, but there are also individual cases in young people. Rectal CA refers to the cancer between the dentate line and the junction of the rectum and sigmoid colon. It is one of the most common malignant tumors of the digestive tract. Rectal cancer is located low and can be easily diagnosed by rectal digital examination and sigmoidoscopy. However, due to its deep location in the pelvic cavity and complex anatomical relationships, it is not easy to perform a thorough surgery and has a high postoperative recurrence rate. The middle and lower rectal CA is close to the anal sphincter, and it is difficult to preserve the anus and its function during surgery. This is a difficult problem in surgery and is also the disease with the most controversy in terms of surgical methods.

The cause of rectal CA is still not very clear, and its onset is related to social environment, eating habits, genetic factors, etc. Frequent consumption of spicy, animal offal, fried, high-sugar and high-salt foods may also induce rectal cancer. Rectal polyps are also high-risk factors for rectal CA. It is generally recognized that excessive intake of animal fat and protein and insufficient intake of dietary fiber are high-risk factors for rectal cancer.

The main treatment options for rectal cancer are surgery, radiotherapy (commonly known as electrotherapy), and chemotherapy. Different combined treatment methods may be used depending on the severity of the disease. Usually, the cancerous part is removed and then the good intestine is connected. Sometimes colostomy surgery is necessary. If everything goes well, the patient can be discharged from the hospital 5-7 days after the operation and can resume normal activities within 6 weeks. Of course, the actual hospitalization and recovery time depends on the patient's condition. Traditional laparotomy to remove intra-abdominal tumors, postoperative pain, large wounds, and slow postoperative recovery of the intestines often bring pain and discomfort to patients. Through "laparoscopic surgery", in addition to achieving the same surgical effect, the surgical wound is small, postoperative pain is reduced, and the number of hospitalization days is reduced. It can be said to be another surgical option for patients with large rectal cancer.

Through the above introduction, I believe everyone has some understanding of rectal CA. Although rectal CA is a disease that affects life expectancy, as long as it is treated actively and the best treatment time is seized, life expectancy can be extended and cure is also possible. In addition to active treatment of rectal CA, it is also necessary to maintain a good and optimistic attitude towards life. Family members should also give care and support to patients, eat a reasonable diet in life, and exercise moderately to enhance their own resistance, and victory over the disease is just around the corner.
