What are the causes of fibroids?

In recent years, the incidence of fibroids has been getting higher and higher. The harm caused by fibroids to people is very serious. Many people with fibroids don’t know how they got this strange disease. So the editor will talk about the causes of fibroids. After understanding these, everyone will pay attention to taking care of their bodies.

Fibromatosis is a fibrous tissue tumor rich in collagen that originates from muscles, aponeurosis, and fascia. The pathological formation is benign or low-grade malignant. However, the tumor has no capsule and grows in an invasive manner. It has obvious malignant biological behavior, that is, it recurs stubbornly many times, but rarely metastasizes to distant places. The recurrence rate is 25 to 57 percent. The recurrence time is mostly 1 month to 1 year after surgery, and can even reach more than 10 years, so this type of tumor is also called invasive fibromatosis. Multiple recurrences can cause the lesions to spread more widely, and uncontrollable growth may occur, invading important organs and endangering life.

Microscopically, the tumor contains abundant collagen fibers, has no capsule, and has no boundary with the surrounding tissue. Sometimes the surrounding tissue is included in the lesion. Nuclear division is rare, and capillaries and fat cells are rare. A small number of recurrent cases may show morphological changes of fibrosarcoma.

Unhealthy lifestyle: Radiation, medical treatment, poor diet and other lifestyle factors may lead to the occurrence of fibroids. For example, long-term drinking of alcohol or increased total fat intake by women, especially postmenopausal obese women, may increase the incidence of fibroids.

Genetic inheritance: Genetic inheritance is one of the more special factors in the etiology of fibroids. If there is a history of fibroids in the family, the family members are at high risk of the disease. According to current research data, if the patient's blood or tissue contains the BRCA-1 gene, then if the BRCA-1 gene can also be found in their children, it indicates that their children have a higher chance of developing fibroids, but this does not mean that the disease is hereditary.

These are the causes of fibroids. I hope they can help you and help you take good care of your body.
