Is fibroid hereditary?

Is fibroid hereditary? Fibroma has caused serious harm to the physical and mental health of many people. This issue has always troubled many patients with fibroids because it is related to the health of the next generation. Today, let us understand whether fibroid is hereditary.

Fibromatosis is a benign peripheral nerve disease, an autosomal dominant genetic disease that histologically originates from the connective tissue of the endoneurium of the peripheral nerve sheath. It often involves organs originating from the ectoderm such as the nervous system, eyes, and skin, and is one of the common neurocutaneous syndromes.

The fibroid mass grows slowly and generally has no other symptoms. The surface of the fibroid is normal, and a smooth, movable, round mass can be felt under the skin. It is painless, has clear boundaries, and is hard. Fibroma is composed of well-differentiated subcutaneous connective tissue and is more common in adults aged 40-50. The tumor grows slowly and generally stops growing after it develops to a certain extent. It is a benign tumor and rarely becomes malignant. The treatment is mainly surgical resection.

Fibroids are a relatively common benign tumor of well-differentiated fibrous connective tissue. They are more common in young people, solitary, mostly millimeters to several centimeters, and painless. They are often found accidentally, are hard, have clear boundaries, are movable, and grow slowly. They can occur in subcutaneous tissues of all parts of the body. For example, tumors that grow in the breasts of young women and are mainly glandular are called fibroadenomas, and tumors that grow in muscles with muscle tissue are called fibromyomas. When they appear multiple times, they are called tumor-like lesions, which are called fibromatosis.

Fibroids are relatively hereditary, especially for boys, where the risk is much higher than for girls. As long as the disease can be diagnosed in time and controlled with medication, there is no problem.
