Diagnosis of breast cancer can be done by mammography

Breast cancer screening is a cancer prevention measure for asymptomatic people. Through effective, simple and economical breast examination measures, asymptomatic women are screened in order to detect, diagnose and treat breast diseases early. The Ministry of Health conducts free breast cancer screening for rural women aged 35-65 years, mainly using ultrasound examination and supplemented by mammography.

Molybdenum target examination is commonly used in clinical diagnosis of breast cancer. The specific contents are as follows:

Features of mammography

Breast mammography can be used as a relatively non-invasive examination method, which can comprehensively and accurately reflect the gross anatomical structure of the entire breast. X-ray examination can be used to observe the effects of various physiological factors, such as menstrual cycle, pregnancy, lactation, delivery and endocrine changes, on breast structure, and dynamic observation can be performed.

Mammography findings in breast cancer patients

Calcification on mammography images includes sheet calcification, cluster calcification, and fine point microcalcification. Computer-aided detection of microcalcifications in mammography X-ray images has become a research hotspot for early diagnosis of breast cancer, mainly because small, granular, clustered microcalcifications are an important early manifestation of breast cancer; space-occupying lesions that can be seen at two different projection positions, among which the edge signs are the most important for judging the nature of the mass, which can be manifested as clear edges, blurred edges, invasive growth, or radial lines from the edge of the mass. Compared with the surrounding breast tissue, most breast masses are high or equal density, and very few can be low density; normal structures are distorted, no clear masses can be seen, nipples, skin, axillary lymph nodes, etc.

Tips: Mammography examination can cause great harm to patients, so the examination method should be chosen with caution.
