Causes related to the incidence of breast cancer

Causes related to the incidence of breast cancer

The cause of breast cancer is still unclear. The latest research suggests that the onset of breast cancer is related to certain factors, which are called risk factors. Risk factors that can lead to breast cancer can be roughly divided into six categories.

(1) Hormone secretion disorder Breast cancer is a hormone-dependent tumor. Increased estrogen levels in the body are an important cause of breast cancer, including endogenous estrogen and exogenous estrogen. Increased estrogen secretion in the body can cause excessive proliferation of breast duct epithelial cells and lead to cancer. Taking estrogen or estrogen-containing supplements can also induce breast tumors.

(2) No childbearing and little breastfeeding. A large number of surveys in recent years have shown that women who have not given birth or who have given birth but rarely breastfeed have a higher probability of developing breast cancer than women who breastfeed multiple times or for a long time.

(3) Some chronic breast diseases , such as fibrocystic breast disease, are currently considered to be precancerous lesions that can easily turn into breast cancer.

(4) Genetic factors Breast cancer has a clear familial tendency. Epidemiological surveys have found that s% to 10% of breast cancer is familial. If one close relative has breast cancer, the risk of the disease increases by 1.5 to 3 times; if two close relatives have breast cancer, the risk of the disease increases by 7 times. The younger the age of onset, the greater the risk of breast cancer in relatives.

(5) Unhealthy lifestyles such as depression, long-term smoking, lack of exercise, obesity, and a high-fat and high-calorie diet are major risk factors for breast cancer.

(6) Certain occupational and environmental factors that expose the human body to radiation, especially exposure to radiation during childhood, will increase the probability of breast cancer in adulthood. Girls who receive chest irradiation for early cancer are at a higher risk of breast cancer. In short, breast cancer is a chronic disease caused by multiple causes, multiple stages, and multiple mutations. It is not caused by a single internal factor (such as genetic defects, etc.) or a single external factor (such as carcinogenic factors, etc.), but is the result of the alternation, interaction, and influence of multiple factors.
