Analysis of epidemiological characteristics of rectal cancer

Rectal cancer is one of the most common digestive system tumors. The impact of colorectal cancer on patients cannot be ignored. Proper understanding of rectal cancer can help readers learn more about the disease, so that they can recognize the importance of preventing rectal cancer in their daily lives and actively treat the disease.

Through this year's clinical research and epidemiological analysis, we can summarize the epidemiological characteristics of rectal cancer as follows:

1. The age of onset is lower than that in foreign countries. Domestic literature reports that the high incidence of rectal cancer is between 41 and 50 years old, accounting for 41.2% of patients.

2. Low-positioned rectal cancer is more common. In my country, rectal cancer accounts for 60%-70% of colorectal cancer, and about 80% of rectal cancer lesions are less than 7 cm away from the anus; while in the United States, rectal cancer accounts for only 20% of colorectal cancer, and only 30% of rectal cancer lesions are less than 6-8 cm away from the anus.

3. It is common for rectal cancer to be combined with schistosomiasis, especially in surgical specimens of rectal cancer.

4. There are obvious differences in the site of onset and prognosis of rectal cancer. According to relevant literature reports, the 5-year survival rate of high-position rectal cancer is 5%-10% higher than that of low-position rectal cancer. The 5-year survival rate of rectal cancer patients in my country is affected to a certain extent because the site of onset is low.

5. The back of the neck of patients with cervical cancer in the north is better than that in the south. According to the comparative analysis of research data, the 5-year survival rates of the northern group and the southern group were 55.9% and 48.5% respectively. The reason may be that the effective anti-cancer response in the body of southerners is lower, making the tumor more invasive.

The above is an epidemiological analysis of rectal cancer in my country. We hope that readers can correctly understand rectal cancer by understanding this medical knowledge, actively and effectively take preventive and treatment measures, and protect their own health.
