What's wrong with inflammation of the ears, nose and throat?

The three organs of ear, nose and throat do not seem to have any connected parts from the outside, but in our body, the three of them form a circulatory system that is interconnected and influences each other. When we experience abnormal pain, redness, swelling, and coughing or colds in the ears, nose, and throat, we often need to consider the possibility of inflammation. So, what causes inflammation of the ears, nose and throat?

1. Chronic pharyngitis. Long-term nasal diseases can irritate the pharynx and cause chronic pharyngitis. Because there are often sticky secretions attached to the posterior pharyngeal wall, frequent irritating coughs occur in the morning, accompanied by nausea or sputum. Take some anti-inflammatory drugs and drink Chinese herbal tea.

2. Use compound peppermint oil nasal drops for nasal treatment. You can also go to the ENT department for examination and take appropriate treatment according to the specific situation. Drink plenty of water to avoid catching a cold.

3. Vocal cord polyps are benign proliferative lesions occurring in the superficial layer of the vocal cord propria, and are also a special type of chronic laryngitis. The most important clinical symptom is hoarseness, which can be treated by appropriate vocal cord rest, correction of bad vocal habits, medication and surgery. Vocal cord polyps are currently mainly treated with surgical resection.

4. Vocal cord polyps are chronic inflammations caused by reflux of gastric contents irritating the laryngeal mucosa. They can be confirmed by laryngoscopy. Smoking, drinking, and spicy and irritating foods should be limited, and coffee, strong tea, etc. should be avoided. Also, contact with irritating gases, dust and other pathogenic factors should be avoided. Resection can be performed under topical anesthesia using a fiberoptic laryngoscope or video laryngoscope

5. Chronic pharyngitis is a chronic inflammation of the pharyngeal mucosa, submucosal and lymphoid tissue. Diffuse pharyngitis is often part of chronic inflammation of the upper respiratory tract; localized pharyngitis is mostly inflammation of the pharyngeal lymphoid tissue. This disease is common in clinical practice, has a long course, and symptoms are prone to recurrence.
