【Preparation method】

Citrus aurantium: remove impurities, wash, soak, cut into thin slices, dry and sieve out the broken pulp and core. This product is an irregular arc-shaped thin slice, up to 5cm long and 1.3cm wide. The cut surface of the exocarp is brown to brown, the mesocarp is yellowish white to yellowish brown, with 1 to 2 rows of dot-shaped oil chambers near the outer edge, and some with a small amount of purple-brown pulp sacs on the inside.

Stir-fried Citrus aurantium with bran: Take Citrus aurantium slices and stir-fry them according to the bran stir-fry method (Appendix Ⅱ D) until the color becomes darker. This product is irregular arc-shaped thin slices with a darker color, some of which have burnt spots.

[Properties] This product is hemispherical in shape, with a diameter of 3 to 5 cm. The exocarp is brown or tan, with granular protrusions and concave oil chambers at the top of the protrusions; there are obvious remnants of the style or fruit stalk marks. The cut surface of the mesocarp is yellow-white, smooth and slightly raised, 0.4-1.3 cm thick, with 1-2 rows of oil chambers scattered on the edge, 7-12 petals in the pulp sac, a few to 15 petals, the juice sac is dried and brown to tan, and contains seeds. It is hard and not easy to break. It has a light fragrance and tastes bitter and slightly sour.

【Identification】

(1) The powder of this product is yellow-white or brown-yellow. The mesocarp cells are round or irregular in shape, and their walls are mostly unevenly thickened. The epidermal cells of the pericarp are polygonal, square or rectangular when viewed from the surface, with nearly annular stomata of 16 to 34 μm in diameter and 5 to 9 accessory cells; the outer layer is cuticle when viewed from the side. The juice sac tissue is light yellow or colorless and film-like. The epidermal cells appear narrow, wrinkled, and arranged alternately with the cells in the underlying layer when viewed from the surface. Calcium oxalate prismatic crystals exist in the peel and juice sac cells, and are rhombic, polyhedral or bipyramidal in shape, with a diameter of 3 to 30 μm. The whorls, reticulated vessels and tracheids are small.

(2) Take 0.5 g of the powder of this product, add 10 ml of methanol, heat and reflux for 10 minutes, filter, take 1 ml of the filtrate, add about 5 mg of potassium tetrahydroborate, shake well, add a few drops of hydrochloric acid, and the solution will turn cherry red to purple red.
