What is the cause of swelling and itching in the lower body

There are many causes of swollen and itchy genitals. It may be due to infection caused by improper sexual life, or bacterial infection caused by eczema or unhygienic genitals. We should pay attention to the hygiene of our genitals. Common causes of vulvar itching and swelling in women include:

1. Mental factors. If you are worried, depressed, nervous, or irritable, you will often feel itchy vulva, and the more you scratch, the more itchy it becomes.

2. Dietary factors. Lack of iron, riboflavin, vitamin A, vitamin E, fat, etc. in food can cause dryness, flaking and itching of the vulvar skin.

3. External stimuli. Sometimes birth control pills can also cause itching. Itching can also be caused by tight underwear, friction between underwear, and irritation from menstrual belts.

Not paying attention to the hygiene of the vulva, stimulation from vaginal secretions, vulvar secretions, sweat, moisture, immersion, chemical fiber underwear, unqualified toilet paper, sanitary napkins, allergies caused by medication in the vulva and vagina, and frequent washing of the vulva with soap can all lead to vulvar itching.

4. Local diseases of the vulva. Local diseases of the vulva include gonorrhea, non-gonococcal urethritis, fungal or Trichomonas vaginitis, scabies, pubic lice, ringworm, atrophic keratotic lichen, leukoplakia, enterobiasis, contact dermatitis, cervicitis, etc. In addition, anal itching often spreads to the vulva and causes itching. Apocrine prurigo and sweat gland follicle keratosis can also cause severe vulva itching.

Vulvar itching is a common symptom in gynecological patients, mostly caused by various vulvar lesions, but it can also occur in people with completely normal vulva. Candidal vaginitis and Trichomonas vaginitis are the most common causes of vulvar itching. Lice and scabies can also cause itching. Pruritus around the anus and vulva of young girls caused by enterobiasis usually only occurs at night. Chronic vulvar malnutrition has severe itching as the main symptom, accompanied by whitening of the vulvar skin. Local allergies are caused by condoms, tampons, sanitary napkins or other drugs, and chemicals. Bad hygiene habits, not paying attention to the local cleanliness of the vulva, sebum, sweat, menstruation, vaginal secretions, and even urine and feces soaking, long-term stimulation of the vulva can cause itching.
