How to check ovulation with ultrasound?

Normally, women all know about their menstrual cycles. In contrast, many young women do not know their ovulation cycles. In fact, women's ovulation cycles are closely related to their menstrual cycles. You can calculate the ovulation period based on the menstrual period. Women still have many reactions when ovulating, such as changes in body temperature, so you can determine whether ovulation has occurred by monitoring body temperature, and you can also use B-ultrasound to check ovulation.

How to check ovulation with ultrasound?

With the increasing competition and life pressure in today's society, it is becoming increasingly difficult for many couples of childbearing age to conceive. Therefore, many couples who are planning to have a baby will choose to use ultrasound to monitor the development of follicles to arrange sexual intercourse to promote pregnancy. So, if we use B-ultrasound to monitor the development of follicles, how will the B-ultrasound show that ovulation has occurred? Next, this article will introduce it to you.

How does B-ultrasound show that ovulation has occurred?

If ultrasound monitoring of follicles reveals that mature follicles suddenly disappear, there is a small amount of fluid accumulation in the pelvic cavity, and a corpus luteum is formed, this means that ovulation has occurred. At the same time, you should also pay attention to the appearance of transparent vaginal discharge during the ovulation period and the strong positive result on the ovulation test paper, which means that ovulation is likely to occur within the next 24 hours.

When is the best time to monitor ovulation with ultrasound?

B-ultrasound monitoring of ovulation is usually done by vaginal B-ultrasound. When to do monitoring is very particular, because you need to be able to grasp the law of ovulation and do as few checks as possible. Therefore, for the first cycle, taking the 28-day menstrual cycle as an example, the ideal monitoring should be as follows:

1. Around the 7th day of menstruation, do an ultrasound to understand whether there are multiple follicles developing at the same time and the diameter of the larger follicles.

2. The second ultrasound is done around the 10th day of menstruation, during which 1 to 2 dominant follicles can be seen and the growth rate of the follicles can be calculated.

3. The third B-ultrasound is just before ovulation. If you don't know how to calculate before ovulation, you can use the follicle's daily growth rate of 2mm to see when the follicle reaches a size of 1.9-2.0cm. Generally speaking, it should be around the 13th day of the cycle. At this time, a sound-transparent ring will appear around the follicle on the B-ultrasound. An experienced technician will tell you that the follicle should ovulate within 24 hours.

4. The fourth B-ultrasound should be done just after ovulation, around the 14th day. The follicle has disappeared or significantly shrunk by more than 5mm, and a liquid dark area of 4 to 6mm or even more can be seen in the uterine rectal crypt. For some people, the follicles can grow but cannot ovulate, such as unluteinized ovarian syndrome. The follicles can grow to more than 30mm, or even larger, but they do not ovulate, and therefore cannot become pregnant.

The above is the introduction about "how B-ultrasound shows that ovulation has occurred". I believe that after reading the above introduction, you have a general understanding. At the same time, experts also remind: During the period of preparing for pregnancy, it is better to do B-ultrasound as little as possible. Although it can see the ovulation situation very intuitively, directly and accurately, it also has many harms. As long as the detection can achieve the purpose of the inspection to a minimum, it is fine.
