Cervical lymph node puncture biopsy

Cervical lymph node puncture biopsy

There are lymph nodes all over our body, and they are a detoxification system. Maintaining the normal functioning of the human body. There are more lymph nodes in the neck, and some people will have swollen lymph nodes, causing their neck to become thicker. Going to the hospital will do a procedure called cervical lymph node puncture biopsy, which can effectively treat swollen lymph nodes. Let me give you a detailed introduction below for your understanding.

1. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma has the following characteristics: (1) Nasal bleeding. Blood in the nasal discharge is often a sign of nasopharyngeal cancer. (2) Unilateral nasal congestion. It is not obvious in the early stage, but becomes progressively worse as the tumor grows. It is different from the common cold in that it presents as unilateral nasal congestion and is not responsive to anti-cold treatment. (3) Symptoms in one ear. The growth of cancerous tissue and invasion of the Eustachian tube can cause otitis media, resulting in ear pain, tinnitus, and hearing loss. If the pharyngeal opening of the Eustachian tube is compressed, the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the tympanic cavity will increase, which may aggravate the tinnitus symptoms.

(4) Migraine. It occurs in about 1/3 of patients. The headache is severe and fixed in location, and is ineffective with analgesics. Headaches are caused by cancerous tissue invading or compressing cranial nerves. (5) Unilateral facial deviation. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma may invade the cranial nerves and cause facial deviation, decreased vision in the affected eye, or double vision. These symptoms are sometimes the first complaint of some patients. (6) Neck lump. According to statistics, about 80% of patients have lymph node metastasis behind the clavicle and below the earlobe. The tumor grows rapidly and may not cause any symptoms. It can move at first, but then adhesion occurs in a short time and it becomes fixed. (7) Nasopharyngeal carcinoma may also metastasize to distant parts of the body, such as the liver, lungs, and bones, thereby causing symptoms in the corresponding parts of the body.

2. Symptoms such as bloody nasal discharge, bloody sputum, nasopharyngeal swelling, and difficulty breathing. Lymph node biopsy only indicates inflammation, not the presence of cancer cells, so there is no need to suspect nasopharyngeal cancer.
