There is something black in the groove of the big tooth

Oral health is closely related to our lives, and it is easy to understand the condition of our teeth through observation. In daily life, some people find black stuff in the grooves of their teeth. Even if they brush their teeth every day, these black stuff cannot be removed, and they are very worried that it will bring more serious impact on their teeth. So, what's going on with the black stuff in the grooves of my molars? What are the causes?

The black substance in the grooves of the molars is most likely tartar. Tartar refers to the dirt attached to the crown, neck and teeth. Dental plaque, also known as dental plaque, is a biological film that gradually deposits on the surface of teeth. It is composed of food residues, desquamated oral epithelial cells, saliva and bacteria, and can harden into tartar over time.

Several ways to remove dental plaque

(1) Vinegar method: Take some vinegar and gargle it in your mouth without spitting it out. Hold it in your mouth for two to three minutes and then spit it out. Then brush your mouth with a toothbrush and finally rinse your mouth with warm water. Or when brushing your teeth, add two drops of vinegar to the toothpaste and brush your teeth. This will remove the tartar. (This method cleans teeth but hurts them)

(2) Brown sugar toothbrushing method: first take an appropriate amount of brown sugar and put it in your mouth. Hold it for about 15 minutes so that all the teeth in your mouth are immersed in the sugar solution. Then use a harder toothbrush to brush your teeth repeatedly for two to three minutes. Then use light salt water to brush your teeth for one or two minutes. Do this once in the morning and once in the evening every day for one week to remove the stains.

(3) White alum toothbrushing method: Grind 50 grams of white alum into powder and brush your teeth with a toothbrush twice a day to remove yellow tartar.

(4) Cuttlefish bone toothbrushing method: Take 50 grams of cuttlefish bone and grind it into fine powder. Mix it with toothpaste and brush your teeth twice a day to remove black tartar.

The above are all simple methods to remove dental plaque. As long as you can keep your teeth free of dental plaque, tartar will not form. Once tartar is formed, the above methods will be of little use and you will have to ask your dentist to scrape it off with instruments. This is a time-consuming, incomplete and tooth-damaging method. Using an ultrasonic dental cleaner to remove tartar is more effective.

Prevention methods

The key to preventing tartar is to maintain good oral hygiene. Rinse your mouth with clean water after every meal or snack. Brush your teeth in the morning and evening, especially at night. When brushing your teeth, you should use the vertical brushing method (brush along the gaps between teeth) to brush the inside, outside and top of the teeth. In addition, when eating, chew with both teeth. Some people are used to chewing with one side of their teeth. In this way, the unused side has less friction, making it easier for plaque and tartar to accumulate. If you often eat fruits or raw vegetables after meals, such as cucumbers and crisp radishes, the friction of fruit pulp and melons can also help remove food residues and tartar.

1. Brushing teeth: Brushing your teeth in the morning and evening and rinsing your mouth after meals are simple and effective ways to prevent the formation of dental tartar. When dental tartar first forms, it is easy to remove it using oral cleaning or brushing. However, it is difficult to remove when the deposits become thicker, calcified, and tightly attached.

2. Dietary structure: Thoroughly chewing crude fiber foods rich in vitamins is beneficial to the cleaning of the tooth surface. Fine cakes, sweets, and sticky snacks are easily deposited on the tooth surface and easily form tartar. You must brush your teeth and rinse your mouth in time after eating such foods.

3. Oral health check: Conduct an oral health check every six months, deal with problems promptly and early, and keep the tooth surface and tooth neck clean at all times.

4. Ultrasonic teeth cleaning: Ultrasonic teeth cleaning once every six months is the most effective way to remove dental tartar, and is also a routine method for treating gingivitis, bleeding gums, and periodontal disease.

5. Chemical dissolution method: Some dental institutions around the world have achieved certain results in controlling the formation of tartar by using a 1% diphosphate solution to inhibit the deposition of minerals in the tartar. However, it has not been widely promoted and is only suitable for a small amount of softer tartar. For tartar that has been attached for a long time, ultrasonic cleaning and sandblasting are still the only way.

6. Tooth bleaching: Using chemical methods to replace the pigment components on the surface of teeth or tooth surface to make teeth whiter. It is a cosmetic measure, but it is not advisable to treat firmly attached dental plaque, and the long-term effect is not stable.
