What are the causes of lower back pain?

Our human body is actually a sophisticated and intelligent machine. Each organ in the human body has its own function, and they are independent of each other yet interconnected. And when we feel uncomfortable due to some special reasons, it will manifest in the form of pain, numbness, etc. Lower back pain is a common condition in our human body. Many people do not understand what is going on. So let’s introduce the causes of lower back pain below.

Causes

1. Injury to the spine and nearby muscles, nerves or soft tissues.

2. Increasing age leads to aging.

3. Viral or bacterial infection.

4. Diseases of other organs in the abdominal cavity.

5. Prostatitis-like syndrome

6. Tumor or its metastasis.

Magnetic resonance imaging shows intervertebral disc herniation, which is one of the possible causes of low back pain.

Low back pain is not a single disease, but a symptom caused by multiple reasons. Most cases of low back pain have no clear cause, but the vast majority are related to muscle strains and sprains. Obesity, smoking, weight gain during pregnancy, stress, poor physical condition, poor posture, and bad sleeping positions can also cause lower back pain. In addition, some other less common differential diagnoses are listed in the literature. Several medical conditions may also cause low back pain, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, spinal disc degeneration, spinal disc herniation, and vertebral compression fractures (common with osteoporosis). Low back pain due to spinal infection or tumors is less common but may also cause low back pain.

Diseases related to women's reproductive system may be related to women's lower back pain, including endometriosis, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, etc. About half of pregnant women experience lower back pain or pain in the coccyx area. This may be due to changes in posture and shifting center of gravity during pregnancy, which can cause muscle or ligament strain and lead to pain.
