What is bacterial culture?

In nature, bacteria are widely distributed, and there are many types of bacteria and their numbers are also very large. In the eyes of many people, bacteria are harmful to humans. In fact, this is not the case. There are indeed many bacteria that can harm human health, but there are also many bacteria that are beneficial to the human body. Nowadays, people often do bacterial culture, which is a very complex project.

What is bacterial culture?

Bacterial vaginosis infection. It is better to go to the hospital for examination and receive symptomatic treatment after a clear diagnosis. It is recommended to have a gynecological examination, test routine leucorrhea, identify the cause, and provide symptomatic treatment. Microbial cultures are generally grown in culture medium. The so-called culture medium generally has a screening function, that is, it cultivates a single strain of bacteria.

Suggestions: In theory, it is possible to perform a single Candida culture in a hospital. However, general hospitals do not conduct scientific research and generally do not culture bacteria.

Specific cultivation steps

Take the photosynthetic bacteria culture method as an example. The method for culturing photosynthetic bacteria is divided into four steps in order: disinfection of containers and tools, preparation of culture medium, inoculation and culture management.

2. Preparation of culture medium

1. Culture water

If the photosynthetic bacteria to be cultured are freshwater species, distilled water can be used for strain culture, and sterilized tap water (or well water) can be used for production culture. If the photosynthetic bacteria to be cultured are marine species, use natural seawater to prepare the culture medium. Note that when adding phosphorus to seawater, do not use dipotassium hydrogen phosphate, but use potassium dihydrogen phosphate, otherwise a large amount of precipitation will be produced.

2. Sterilization and disinfection The culture medium used for bacterial culture should be sterilized together with the culture container using a high-pressure steam autoclave. For small-scale production culture, the prepared culture medium can be boiled and sterilized in an ordinary aluminum pot or large conical flask. In large-scale productive cultivation, the water filtered through sedimentation sand is disinfected with bleaching powder (or bleaching liquid) before use.

3. The medium preparation should be based on the nutritional requirements of the species being cultured to select the appropriate medium formula. Weigh the required substances according to the culture medium formula, dissolve them one by one, mix them, and prepare the culture medium. It can also be prepared into a mother liquor first, and then a certain amount can be added according to the proportion when using.

(III) After the inoculation medium is prepared, inoculation should be carried out immediately. The seed amount for productive culture of photosynthetic bacteria is relatively high, generally 20% to 50%, that is, the ratio of the mother liquid of the strain to the newly prepared culture medium is 1:4 to 1:1, and should not be less than 20%. Especially for microaerial culture, the inoculation amount should be higher, otherwise it will be difficult for photosynthetic bacteria to occupy an absolute advantage in the culture medium, affecting the final yield and quality of the culture.
