How to comfort a baby when he has a tantrum

When babies lose their temper, many parents get mad and don't know how to deal with it correctly. In fact, a baby's temper is also a way to vent emotions, so parents should understand the reasons for the baby's temper, as well as his expectations and requirements. Generally, when infants and young children lose their temper, it is usually because they are uncomfortable, hungry, sleepy, or have urinated.

1. Reasonably adjust your expectations and requirements for your children.

You can demonstrate to your child what behaviors are correct, but don't insist that your child do it. The tone of voice and facial expressions of adults are the best ways to make their teachings understood by children. Speak firmly, but don't react too strongly.

2. The focus of management should be on prevention.

Make sure everything in your home is safe for your child and put away anything that can break easily. If a child takes something he shouldn't, the parents should quickly take the thing away and put it where the child can't reach.

3. You can stop the child from crying by comforting him or diverting his attention.

If your one-and-a-half-year-old struggles hard and just doesn't want to be "stuck" in his dining chair, then you'd better comfort him and tell him that you know he doesn't like being tied up with a seat belt or having the small table stuck in the chair so that he can't move, but it has to be done. Then place your child in a chair and distract him with something else.

4. Reduce the intensity of the fight with your child to the lowest point.

Clearly explain your expectations to your child without yelling at him. Don't overestimate your child's abilities; just give him some simple choices. If necessary, you can also give him some material incentives to make him cooperate with his parents instead of confronting them. Parents must realize that the main "job" of a child this age is to constantly test you.

5. Help your child control his emotions.

If he hits someone, teach him to express his anger verbally, and explain to the child: "We don't hit people, because hitting people will hurt others."
