What causes shadows in the lungs?

Many people do not know what shadows in the lungs are. Lung shadows are usually discovered through photo examinations. Lung shadows generally indicate the presence of lung lesions. This situation is closely related to disease. For example, some lung infectious diseases can cause shadows to appear.

1. The so-called lung shadow refers to the high-density area found in the perspective area of the lung, which usually appears as a mass or nodule in the lung. It means that there is a lesion in the lung, such as viral pneumonia, lung infection and lung cancer. After the shadow in the lung is found, the first thing to do is to resist treatment, so that you can seize the opportunity of treatment; lung shadow is not necessarily lung cancer. If this happens, further examination should be carried out and do not lose confidence.

2. Pulmonary infectious diseases, including pneumonia (accompanied by cough, sputum, fever, chest tightness, fatigue, dyspnea, etc.), pulmonary tuberculosis (commonly accompanied by cough, sputum and hemoptysis, as well as low-grade fever in the afternoon, fatigue, night sweats, loss of appetite, etc.), bronchiectasis (common symptoms are long-term coughing up thick sputum and hemoptysis), pulmonary aspergillosis (most of them have no systemic symptoms, a few may have hemoptysis and cough), etc.;

3. Lung tumors, including lung cancer (common in middle-aged and elderly people, with symptoms such as irritating cough, bloody sputum, chest pain, weight loss, hoarseness, and coughing when drinking water), lung metastatic cancer (malignant tumors in other parts of the body metastasize to the lungs, and most patients are asymptomatic), pulmonary pseudotumor (most patients have a history of pneumonia, and most of them have no symptoms when lung shadows are found, and sometimes it is difficult to distinguish from lung cancer), etc.;

4. Congenital pulmonary dysplasia, mainly including lung cysts (more common in male children and young adults), pulmonary hamartomas (generally asymptomatic), pulmonary sequestration (congenital pulmonary dysplasia), etc.
