Treatment methods for cervical spurs, conservative treatment is effective

Cervical bone spur is a common disease among middle-aged and elderly people. The most typical symptoms are pain, numbness and swelling. Especially the elderly who are prone to calcium deficiency should be alert to the occurrence of this disease. If you suffer from cervical bone spur, you can take physical therapy, massage, or traction therapy.

1. Traction method: Through the mutual balance between traction force and counter-traction force, the head and neck are relatively fixed in the physiological curve state, so that the phenomenon of abnormal cervical curve is gradually changed, but its therapeutic effect is limited and it is only suitable for patients with mild symptoms; and traction is prohibited in the acute stage to prevent local inflammation and edema from worsening; activities are restricted during the traction period.

2. Physiotherapy: Physiotherapy is the abbreviation of physical therapy. It is the application of various natural and artificial physical factors, such as sound, light, electricity, heat, magnetism, etc., to the human body in order to achieve the purpose of treating and preventing diseases.

3. Massage: Massage is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine. There is no need for medication or injections during treatment. The massage doctor only needs to use his hands and simple instruments to apply different techniques to certain parts of the body or acupoints along the meridians and the direction of the flow of qi and blood to achieve the treatment goal. However, massage is prohibited during the acute phase or acute attack period, otherwise it will aggravate the inflammation and edema of the nerve roots and intensify the pain. Cervical spondylosis is accompanied by fractures, bone and joint structure disorders, osteoarthritis, severe senile osteoporosis, etc. Massage can destroy bones and spread infection, so this therapy should be prohibited.

4. Interventional therapy: A new treatment method in medicine that can effectively treat cervical spondylosis and lumbar spondylosis.

5. Folk remedy: When you sleep at night, put a beer bottle under your neck and sleep on your back.

6. Acupuncture therapy: Acupuncture can promote blood circulation and relieve pain, and can eliminate local edema and inflammation. However, for cervical bone spurs, acupuncture can only play an auxiliary role.
