How to treat psoriasis, prevention is the key

At present, there are three methods for treating psoriasis: phototherapy (ultraviolet rays), immunosuppressants, and topical medications. The effectiveness depends on the patient's own symptoms. Although this disease cannot be transmitted to others, it is hereditary, and patients who want to have children must be cured first.

1. Treatment of psoriasis

Psoriasis is a very common disease nowadays. This disease has a great impact on the patient's life. Treatment is very important for psoriasis patients. There are several Western medicine treatments for psoriasis:

1. Light therapy (ultraviolet light)

Under the professional guidance of a doctor, beta-ultraviolet light (UV) is used to treat generalized or localized stubborn psoriasis lesions. Phototherapy and topical ointments are more effective when used together.

2. Immunosuppressants

(1) Ethylenimine: also known as imine 154 or diketoazine. It mainly inhibits the synthesis of deoxyribonucleic acid in cells, thereby inhibiting cell growth. Usage: Adults generally take 300-400 mg orally 2-3 times a day. Generally, significant effect is seen after 3-4 weeks of medication, with a significant efficacy of 58%-88%.

(2) Methotrexate: It is an anti-folate anti-tumor drug and one of the earliest cytotoxic drugs used to treat psoriasis. It is effective for all types of psoriasis. It is suitable for arthritis type, erythrodermic type, pustular type and generalized psoriasis vulgaris. Methotrexate can be used for those who are ineffective with other therapies.

3. External medication method

For localized rashes, topical medications can be used for treatment, based on the principle of using keratolytics and cytostatics. During the treatment period, it is not advisable to use strongly irritating external medications to avoid inducing erythroderma.

2. How to prevent psoriasis

Many psoriasis patients are suffering from their condition, and they especially regret that they did not take good preventive measures which aggravated their condition. Therefore, psoriasis patients also feel inexplicably sad about their illness. The following is an introduction to the prevention of psoriasis.

1. Be careful about skin injuries and avoid exposing your skin to strong sunlight. Do not expose to strong sunlight. This can easily cause skin inflammation, damage melanin and cause depigmentation spots. You can sunbathe through glass windows to reduce ultraviolet radiation. Psoriasis should be detected and treated early to control the progression of the disease.

2. Avoid taking vitamin C. Because this drug can prevent the production of melanin during melanin metabolism, which aggravates the condition. Do not eat or eat less fruits rich in vitamin C, such as tomatoes, sour dates, kiwis, persimmons, etc.

3. Try to reduce the inhalation of harmful gases as much as possible, and choose a place with fresh air when doing morning exercises or exercising.

4. At ordinary times, you should also pay attention to labor protection and try to reduce direct contact with chemical raw materials, paints and coatings, as well as heavy metal salts and other harmful substances.

5. Pay attention to diet regulation. Eat a proper combination of meat and vegetables, and eat more milk, eggs, liver, vegetables, and beans. Eat less garlic, foods that are too sour, too spicy, and foods that are prone to inflammation, such as mutton, shrimp, and crab. Also avoid drinking any kind of alcohol.

6. You should also pay attention to the pollution caused by house decoration. Generally, people should ventilate the house for three months before moving in. General decoration materials contain formaldehyde, ammonia and other toxic substances, which can cause damage to multiple systems and organs of the human body.
