The best treatment for flat warts, combining Chinese and Western medicine has good results

Flat warts are most common in young and middle-aged people. They are most likely to occur on the face and back of the hands. Flat warts can have a great impact on the patient's psychology. Flat warts can be treated with surgery, medication, or traditional Chinese medicine.

1. Western medicine treatment of flat warts:

1. Surgical excision of flat warts: Dermatologists do not advocate surgical excision of flat warts. This is because surgery often does not cut cleanly, and recurrence is likely to occur, leaving scars that make continued treatment more difficult.

2. Corrosive drugs to treat flat warts: Nantong dermatologists do not recommend this method, because most warts will naturally disappear in 1-2 years, so there is a saying among the people that "thousand-day warts"; and even if corrosive drugs are used, warts may still recur. Especially warts on the face will leave scars and affect the appearance.

3. Systemic treatment: polyinosin, isatis root intramuscular injection or oral administration of levamisole, methenamine.

4. Local treatment: liquid nitrogen freezing or laser treatment, external application of Brucea javanica seeds, Warts Must Be Treated, etc.

For those with a large number of warts that do not heal for a long time, you can take methenamine orally, 0.3-0.6g/time, 3 times/d, or magnesium oxide, 0.5g/time, 3 times/d. You can try intramuscular injection of α, γ-interferon, polyinosin, and Fritillaria thunbergii. You can use 0.5% phthalidene ointment, interferon α-2b film, 1% penciclovir cream, 0.025% retinoic acid (retinoic acid) cream, etc. Topically, you can use laser and cryotherapy with caution on the face, and do not use highly corrosive drugs to prevent pigmentation and scar formation that affect beauty. Various physical therapies can be used on the back of the hand (same as common warts).

2. Treatment of flat warts with traditional Chinese medicine:

Local treatment: For external treatment, you can use the Purple and Blue Formula (see Systemic Treatment of Common Warts) soaked in wine and applied externally, or use Realgar Detoxification Powder added to Stemona Wine for external application. You can also use a black ointment stick, warm it and apply it externally, change it every 5 to 6 days, or use Brucea javanica seeds to crush and apply externally (be careful to protect the surrounding skin). You can also use Equisetum arvense, Cyperus rotundus, Isatis root, Sophora flavescens root, boiled water to soak and wash the affected area.
