How to deal with centipedes at home

Centipede is a kind of insect that everyone is very afraid of. Not only does it look quite scary, but centipede is also poisonous and can cause considerable harm to the body. Since centipedes like humid environments, if your home meets these conditions, it is easy to attract centipedes. We often hear about centipedes entering homes and biting people. Therefore, when this happens, learn to deal with it correctly. So, how should you deal with centipedes at home? Let’s take a closer look below.

Centipedes enter the house often because the environment around the house is humid, which is suitable for centipedes to live. In some cases, centipedes enter human dwellings intentionally or accidentally. Therefore, it is best to plan and arrange the flower beds away from doors, windows and walls, and do not pile up debris close to the walls, so as to reduce the possibility of centipedes entering the house.

Centipedes often enter the room through gaps such as doors, windows and walls. Centipedes are nocturnal creatures, so it is important to close doors and windows tightly at night. Especially in the hot summer, many people open doors and windows to keep cool at night, which can easily allow centipedes to enter the house. If there are cracks in the wall, be sure to block them.

In addition to the preventive measures mentioned above, the most direct method is to expel or kill them. Sulfur fumigation, pyrethroid fumigation, DDT fumigation and other drug killing methods can kill centipedes quickly and effectively. However, these drugs are toxic to humans and animals and are often not suitable for human living environments, only for houses such as unmanned warehouses.

If you want to drive away centipedes, you can use mugwort or chili to smoke indoors, or you can sprinkle realgar wine on the ground and in the corners where centipedes hide, and then leave a gap in the door for the centipedes to escape; near the doors and windows outdoors, you can sprinkle quicklime, sulfur, realgar wine, etc.

Having centipedes appear in your home is definitely an unbearable thing, as this happens quite often. How to deal with centipedes at home has naturally become a matter of concern. In addition to changing the environment to prevent centipedes, the best way is to place some medicines at home, which can also prevent centipedes.
