Due to the deterioration of our living environment and air pollution, there are more dust particles in the air. These particles are harmful to the human body when inhaled, and they are also harmful to the nasal cavity. Dry or particulate air inhaled into our nasal cavity will cause damage to the nasal mucosa and produce blood clots. Blood in the nasal discharge is a common symptom of nasal diseases. The common causes of blood in the nasal discharge are generally the following: Inflammation of the nasal cavity: Acute rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis, sinusitis and other non-specific inflammations of the nasal cavity and sinuses are common causes of blood in the nasal discharge. Common colds are caused by congestion and swelling of the nasal mucosa, coupled with secondary infection, which leads to bloody discharge when blowing the nose. This is due to ruptured capillaries and will disappear on its own as rhinitis is cured and nasal ventilation function improves. Certain specific inflammations: such as tuberculosis, syphilis, malignant granuloma and other infections can cause dilation of small blood vessels in the nasal cavity or erosion of the nasal mucosa, resulting in blood in the nasal discharge. Systemic causes: Nutritional disorders or vitamin C deficiency, cardiovascular diseases and blood diseases can all cause blood in the nasal discharge. Systemic diseases such as coagulation disorders or vascular fragility changes can cause blood in the nasal discharge. Such as leukemia, hemorrhagic purpura, aplastic anemia, hypertension, cor pulmonale, vitamin C, B2, P, K deficiency, rheumatic fever, chronic diseases of the liver, spleen, kidney, acute infectious diseases, etc. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is one of the most common tumors in my country. Among malignant tumors of the head and neck, the incidence of this disease ranks first. The age of onset is mostly between 40 and 60 years old, and it occurs more frequently in men than in women. The main symptoms are: blood in the snot or blowing out bloody snot. This is mainly caused by rupture of the tumor surface causing bleeding. The amount of bleeding is generally not much, and it is more common when getting up in the morning. Because the bleeding is small and occurs intermittently, it is often ignored by patients or mistakenly treated as respiratory inflammation. In addition to the above situations that can cause blood clots in the nasal cavity, there are also cases where a person picks his nose forcefully, or his nose is injured by external force. These are just symptoms of damaged nasal mucosa, so just pay attention to a light diet and rest for a while and you will be fine. However, if this happens frequently, you need to pay special attention. |
