Nine three-minute moments you need to focus on for a healthy life

Everyone's daily life is busy and they don't care about some small things in daily life. But in fact, if you can take out three minutes to do something and learn to take a break from your busy schedule, it will be of great benefit to your health. Mastering the "3-minute health rule" can make you unexpectedly healthier. Start doing it now.

1. Stay in bed for three minutes after waking up

In cases of stroke and sudden death, nearly 25% of people develop the disease in the early morning. It is recommended that middle-aged and elderly people with hypertension and heart disease should not rush to get up after waking up, but should close their eyes and rest in bed for three minutes before getting up. The body can maintain its original posture and move the limbs, head and neck appropriately so that the blood pressure will not fluctuate too much.

2. Brush your teeth for three minutes

The basic principle of brushing teeth is "comprehensive", that is, every angle of the teeth, such as the outside, inside, and occlusal surface, must be taken into consideration. In total, there are about 80 tooth surfaces that need to be cleaned, and a toothbrush can only brush two to three teeth at the same time, so each brushing session should last for three minutes to ensure that all teeth are cleaned.

3. Boil for another three minutes after the water boils

Chlorinated tap water, in which chlorine combines with residual organic matter in the water, will produce a variety of carcinogenic compounds such as halogenated hydrocarbons and chloroform. Experiments have shown that the content of this substance is closely related to changes in water temperature and the length of boiling time. If the water is boiled and then boiled for another 3 minutes, its content can be reduced to the safest drinking standard.

4. Eat hot food and drink cold food for three minutes

After eating hot food, the blood vessels will dilate. If you eat a lot of cold food at this time, the blood vessels will contract sharply, blood pressure will increase, and symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, stomach pain, and bloating will appear. Therefore, it is best not to eat foods with sharp temperature contrasts within a short period of time. Even if you want to drink a cold drink to quench your thirst after eating a hot meal, you should wait for more than three minutes.

5. Boil water for three minutes

Everyone knows how to drink tea, but not everyone knows how to brew it properly. It is recommended to brew the tea for three minutes, pour out the water and then brew it for another three minutes. The best water temperature is 70℃~80℃. The tea brewed in this way will have excellent color, aroma and taste. This is because, when tea leaves are soaked in high-temperature water for a long time, tea polyphenols, tannins and other substances will be leached out in large quantities, making the tea dark in color and bitter in taste. At the same time, since the water temperature is always kept very high, the aromatic oil in the tea will evaporate quickly and a large amount of tannic acid and thealkali will seep out. This not only reduces the nutritional value of the tea and the tea aroma, but also increases the harmful substances. After brewing tea for three minutes, the caffeine in the tea has basically seeped out. At this time, the tea is most refreshing.

6. Press the inner corner of the eye for three minutes after applying eye drops

Many people have the same confusion: after putting eye drops in their eyes, their mouth often tastes bitter, just like taking medicine. This is because the five senses of the human body are connected, and the eye drops will flow from the nasolacrimal duct into the nasal cavity and then into the oral cavity. After applying the eye drops, it is best to gently close your eyes and press the inner corner of the eye with your index finger for three minutes. In this way, not only can the drug solution be prevented from entering the nasolacrimal duct and being absorbed by the nasal mucosa into the blood, but it can also prolong the time the drug solution stays on the surface of the eyeball, making the drug more effective.

7. Don’t be angry for more than three minutes

The energy consumed by being angry for ten minutes is no less than that of running a 3,000-meter race. What’s more serious is that the physiological reaction when you are angry is very intense, and the secretions are more complex and toxic than those of any other emotion. Therefore, it is difficult for people who are prone to anger to live long. When people are angry, their blood pressure rises instantly. People with poor health, especially the elderly, are prone to cerebral hemorrhage, heart disease and myocardial infarction. Therefore, you should not be angry for more than three minutes. Even if you are angry, it should come and go quickly. Express your anger as soon as possible and try your best to keep your emotions stable.

8. Going to the toilet for no more than three minutes

During bowel movements, the intestines are subjected to a pressure of dozens to hundreds of kilograms per square centimeter. Reading or smoking while defecating often leads to prolonged defecation. If this happens frequently, it will cause sagging of the intestinal mucosa, leading to habitual constipation, hemorrhoids and other diseases. Therefore, it is best to limit toilet time to less than three minutes.

9. Take 3 minutes of rest between exercises

Many people have experienced shortness of breath during exercise. At this time, you should take a short break. In fact, in just 3 minutes, human muscles can replenish enough energy to prepare for the next exercise. Scientists at the University of Kansas in the United States found that even for intense sports such as basketball and badminton, a short rest of 3 minutes in the middle is enough. In this way, the body will not cool down quickly, preventing sports injuries such as cramps and muscle strains when exercising again. It is also enough to use this time to replenish water and energy, allowing the muscles to get proper rest, which can help exercise for a longer time.
