6 signs reminding you to protect your liver

6 signs reminding you to protect your liver

Symptom 1: Increased acne

The progesterone hormone in the human body plays a role in promoting the secretion of sebum. The liver can destroy progesterone and adjust hormone balance. Therefore, reduced liver function will increase sebum secretion, eventually leading to acne.

Symptom 2: Getting drunk easily

Some people usually drink a lot, but now feel "drunk" after just a little drink. This sign reminds you that your liver function has declined, your liver is damaged, and your liver cannot completely break down acetaldehyde, a metabolite of alcohol.

Symptom 3: The wound is prone to suppuration and infection

The liver plays an important role in human metabolism. If liver function is damaged, skin regeneration will be hindered. In addition, the decreased detoxification function of the liver can easily cause bacterial infection in wounds.

Symptom 4: Dark complexion

The liver plays an important role in iron metabolism, and iron is normally accumulated in the liver. If liver cells are damaged, the iron in the liver cells will flow into the blood vessels, increasing the iron content in the blood and causing the face to turn dark. This symptom is most likely to occur in men and postmenopausal women. Therefore, when signs of a dark complexion appear, you must be alert to whether your liver is damaged and protect your liver in time.

Symptom 5: Red nose

The so-called "red nose" is caused by the expansion of capillaries in the tip of the nose. Although a "red nose" is not necessarily caused by liver damage, women are more likely to have a "red nose" when their liver function is reduced or their hormones are disordered.

Symptom 6: Spider nevi and palmar erythema

Some patients with liver disease, especially those with cirrhosis, will develop spider nevi and palmar erythema.

A spider nevus is a small red dot that appears on the skin. This small red dot is slightly higher than the skin, and some tiny capillaries extend outward from the red dot, which looks like the limbs of a spider, so it is called a "spider nevus." If you press the tip of a pencil on the center of the small red dot, the dilated capillaries disappear, and they reappear as soon as you release the tip of the pencil. This type of spider nevus often appears on the face, neck and upper limbs, but is rarely seen below the navel. If the patient's liver function improves, spider nevi will also decrease or even disappear.

Palmar erythema appears on the palms or fingertips. When it appears on the palm, the location is the "thenar" and "hypothenar" at the base of the thumb and little finger. These areas are diffusely red and fade with pressure.
