Will HPV infection definitely lead to cervical cancer? Rationally prevent and treat HPV!

As we all know, HPV infection is a high-risk factor for cervical cancer, so many women are terrified and have been seeking medical treatment, hoping that the HPV virus can be completely eradicated, spending a lot of money and energy on treatment. However, most HPV viruses do not require special treatment and can be eliminated by a strong immune system.

Will infection with HPV virus definitely lead to cervical cancer?

It is undeniable that cervical cancer is related to infection with HPV virus, but infection with HPV virus does not 100% lead to cervical cancer. At present, more than 200 HPV virus subtypes have been discovered, and low-risk infection accounts for more than 50%. The external manifestations are warts and genital warts. Among them, there are more than dozens of high-risk HPV viruses. More than 70% of cervical cancer is related to infection with high-risk HPV16 and HPV18. Infection with HPV virus does not turn into cervical cancer all at once. It takes at least 5 to 10 years for HPV virus infection to turn into high-risk HPV continuous infection, then cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, and finally develop into invasive cervical cancer. Most women are infected with HPV virus transiently, and can clear HPV virus through their own immunity in about 1 to 2 years.

How to prevent and treat HPV virus?

1. Get the HPV vaccine

So far, my country's HPV vaccines are divided into 2-valent, 4-valent and 9-valent vaccines, which need to be selected according to women's age and sexual life. If conditions permit, the 9-valent HPV vaccine can be selected, which prevents more HPV subtypes.

2. Pay attention to personal hygiene

Women should pay attention to personal hygiene, insist on washing private parts with warm water every day, and refuse to wear tight and chemical fiber underwear to prevent HPV infection. Before and after sex, you need to wash the vulva with warm water to prevent HPV virus from entering the cervix. The more sexual partners you have, the higher the risk of HPV infection, so you should keep yourself clean.

3. Regular screening

In addition to screening for HPV virus, a TCT test is also required. If the TCT test result is abnormal, a cell biopsy is required with the help of a colposcopy; if the colposcopy result is normal, it indicates a benign disease such as chronic cervicitis; if the colposcopy result is abnormal, it is most likely cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. All women who have sex should undergo regular HPV screening or TCT screening; even after receiving the HPV vaccine, they should continue to undergo screening.

Kind tips

Low-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia does not require special treatment and will naturally disappear in about 1 to 2 years. However, high-grade precancerous lesions require scientific and standardized treatment. Doctors will formulate treatment plans based on women's reproductive needs and the size of the lesions. It is worth noting that no therapy or drug can directly eliminate the HPV virus, but only has an inhibitory effect, so it should be treated rationally and not be treated randomly.
