How is teratoma formed? How to treat teratoma effectively?

Teratomas are tumors derived from germ cells with multidirectional differentiation potential, often containing a variety of tissue components from the three germ layers, with disordered arrangement structures. According to their appearance, they can be divided into cystic and solid types; according to the degree of differentiation and maturity of their tissues, they can be divided into benign teratomas and malignant teratomas. This tumor most often occurs in the ovaries and testicles. It can occasionally be seen in the mediastinum, sacrum, peritoneum, pineal gland and other parts.

Teratoma symptoms diagnosis

(1) Benign teratoma

Most of them are cystic, so they are also called cystic teratomas, or dermoid cysts, which are more common in the ovaries. Most of the tumors are unilocular, with a granular inner wall, rough and uneven, and often with nodular protrusions. Sometimes small pieces of bone, cartilage, etc. can be seen, and there is sebum, hair, and even teeth in the cyst cavity. Under the microscope, in addition to skin tissue and skin appendages, glands covered with cubic epithelium, tracheal or intestinal mucosa, bones, cartilage, brain, smooth muscle, thyroid and other tissues can also be seen. Various tissues are basically differentiated and mature, so it is called mature teratoma. Benign teratomas have a good prognosis, and a few malignant ones will turn into squamous cell carcinomas.

(2) Malignant teratoma

Most of them are solid and more common in the testicles than in the ovaries. They are mainly composed of immature embryonic tissues, often with poorly differentiated neuroectodermal components, so they are also called immature teratomas. This tumor often metastasizes, and can metastasize to the pelvic cavity and distant organs.

Teratoma is a common ovarian germ cell tumor. The main causes of its formation are: 1. Genetic and family factors: People with a family history of teratoma are more likely to develop teratoma. 2. Endocrine disorders: Since teratoma is a common gynecological tumor, the occurrence of teratoma is closely related to endocrine disorders, which lead to large hormonal changes. 3. The patient's unhealthy lifestyle and long-term unbalanced diet lead to decreased body function and decreased immunity, which induces teratoma.

How to prevent teratoma

1. Develop good living habits, quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption. The World Health Organization predicts that if people stop smoking, the number of tumors in the world will be reduced by 1/3 in 5 years; secondly, do not drink excessively. Tobacco and alcohol are extremely acidic substances. People who smoke and drink for a long time are very likely to develop an acidic constitution.

2. Do not eat too much salty and spicy food, and do not eat overheated, too cold, expired or spoiled food; the elderly and weak or those with a genetic gene for certain diseases should eat some anti-cancer foods and alkaline foods with high alkaline content as appropriate to maintain a good mental state.

3. Have a good attitude to deal with stress, combine work and rest, and avoid excessive fatigue. It can be seen that stress is an important cause of tumors. Chinese medicine believes that stress leads to physical weakness due to overwork, which in turn causes decreased immune function, endocrine disorders, metabolic disorders in the body, and the deposition of acidic substances in the body; stress can also lead to mental tension, causing qi stagnation, blood stasis, and internal toxic fire.

4. Strengthen physical exercise, improve physical fitness, exercise more in the sun, and sweat more to excrete acidic substances in the body with sweat, avoiding the formation of an acidic constitution.

5. Live a regular life. People with irregular living habits, such as singing karaoke all night, playing mahjong, and staying out all night, will increase the acidification of the body and be prone to tumors. You should develop good living habits to maintain a weakly alkaline body and keep various tumors away from you.

6. Do not eat contaminated food, such as contaminated water, crops, poultry, fish eggs, moldy food, etc. Eat some green organic food to prevent diseases from entering the body through the mouth.

7. Supplement folic acid. It is recommended to start supplementing folic acid in the first three months of pregnancy. It is generally sold in pharmacies. The kind with 400 micrograms per pill is enough. One pill a day is enough, or you can buy it at the hospital. It can be taken throughout the pregnancy, or in the first three months after pregnancy. The fetus's brain development requires sufficient folic acid in these three months.

General treatment

Teratoma Western Medicine Treatment

1. Treatment

The best treatment for this disease is surgical resection. During the operation, the contents of the cyst should be removed as much as possible, and the cyst wall should be removed as much as possible. The part of the cyst wall that is tightly adhered to the spinal cord or nerve root should not be removed forcibly. For intraspinal malignant teratomas, the comprehensive treatment plan of surgical resection followed by adjuvant radiotherapy or chemotherapy still needs further study.

(II) Prognosis

The prognosis of benign teratomas after surgical resection is also good. The prognosis of carcinoid tumors produced by mature teratomas in the spinal canal is still unclear. If their biological behavior has malignant characteristics, surgical resection should be followed by adjuvant radiotherapy, which improves the short-term efficacy, but the long-term efficacy is still uncertain.

Treatment of teratoma The treatment methods for different types of teratoma are also different: 1. Intracranial teratoma: mainly treated by surgery, which is ineffective for chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and it is difficult to completely remove it, but it can be cured after removal. 2. Gastric teratoma: Most patients have benign tumors, and they can be treated with surgery early if they are discovered, and the prognosis is good. 3. Testicular teratoma: Surgery is the preferred method. 4. Ovarian teratoma: When treating, it is necessary to consider the treatment method of preserving fertility function, remove the greater omentum, and combine it with chemotherapy. 5. Sacrococcygeal teratoma: The coccyx is completely removed through surgery, and the cure rate is high.

Below are some dietary taboos for patients with teratoma:

1. Patients who have undergone surgical anesthesia must fast for 6 hours, and then they can eat liquid food without sugar or milk. They can eat semi-liquid food after the anus is exhausted, and normal food after defecation.

2. Eat high-protein and high-vitamin foods to keep bowel movements smooth. Eat more nutritious foods after surgery: sesame, almonds, wheat, barley, and wild gourds. Eat more foods with anti-tumor effects: turtles, horseshoe crabs, seahorses, dragon ball tea, hawthorn, etc.

3. Infection: eat eel, carp, Chinese toon, water snake, celery, sesame, rape, buckwheat, mung bean, clam, red bean, etc. Bleeding: eat sheep blood, snail, squid, mussels, shepherd's purse, lotus root, water spinach, torreya grandis, mushroom, stone ear, dried persimmon, etc. Abdominal pain, abdominal distension: eat pork kidney, bayberry, hawthorn, walnut, chestnut, etc.

4. Tonify Qi and nourish blood after surgery: Eat warming foods such as longan, red dates, and old hen soup, and avoid cold foods. Patients with severe itching symptoms should not eat seafood and irritating and allergenic foods. Eat more amaranth, cabbage, mustard greens, taro, kelp, seaweed, etc.

Avoid eating spicy and irritating foods. After teratoma surgery, you should pay attention to eating more light foods and avoid eating all spicy and irritating foods. If the food contains peppers, peppers, ginger, etc., you should not eat them. After the surgery, you should avoid eating spicy hot pot, spicy hot pot, Sichuan cuisine, Hunan cuisine, etc. for a long time after the surgery.

Avoid eating irritating foods. Eating mutton, dog, fish and shellfish after surgery is not conducive to the body's recovery to a certain extent. Patients should avoid eating all irritating foods for a long time after surgery, and should choose foods with milder properties.

Avoid eating barbecued and fried foods. After surgery, teratoma patients should try to eat fresh and plain foods, and avoid eating fried and greasy foods. They should stay away from barbecued and fried foods from street vendors for a long time, because improper consumption of these foods is not conducive to the recovery of physical health and will cause the recurrence of the disease, which is not worth the loss.

Avoid eating pickled foods. Patients with teratoma should avoid eating canned foods after surgery. Of course, pickled meat and vegetables are not allowed to be eaten. Eating these foods is not good for health and will cause the disease to recur. Therefore, patients should avoid eating these foods after surgery.

The above are the foods that should not be eaten after teratoma surgery. If the patient still eats indiscriminately after surgery, it will be very harmful. The patient should have a healthy eating habit after surgery, pay attention to eating more light food and food with a mild nature, and choose steaming, boiling and stewing as the main cooking methods.
